It seems to be a new breed since I don’t see a lot of its kind at the beach so I can’t really compare apple to apple. It has to be an apple to banana comparison. I carried umbrellas to the beach for years. They took time to assemble, and heavy. This beach tent solves all the issues, with style. It’s light weight, sturdy, and unfolds in second. There are 4 empty bags around the corner to out sand in so wind can’t blow it away. And it works extremely well. Now a few things to keep in mind: - it’s a tent, it’s on the ground. It’s better to place it does not catch the wind otherwise sand will come in. Not a flaw by any means but something to keep in mind - there are plenty of videos on YouTube on how to fold beach tent in seconds. It’s a twist then fold motion. Overall I’m satisfied with the build quality and usability of the product. Can’t think of anything else to improve. Maybe some more “art” to personalize the tent but that’s personal preference ... show more

Order arrived quickly. As described, tent basically pops right up when you toss it out. Folding it back together was a bit tricky at first. There are instructions in the carry bag, which will be helpful once you know what you are doing, but the first time around, definitely hit youtube to watch someone do it. The video I found was posted by someone named Theussawaclub and it shows them folding it in their backyard. One minute video and two minutes later I had mastered the fold. Easy - once you know what you are doing. Looking forward to taking it for a real test drive on the beach this summer! ... show more

The media could not be loaded. Very easy to set up... Just pops right up. Equally as easy to fold up and put away. We've already used it once at a campground when we listened to a band.. it was nice the not sit in the hot sun. It's going to be wonderful at the beach this summer as well. I'm also thinking it might be helpful in a light rain situation. I really like that it had a floor in it... so you're not sitting directly on the ground. It comes with stakes and sandbags to weight it down and keep it in place. ... show more

It was a very windy day on the beach when I tried this tent out. Unzipping the bag, I tossed the tent onto the sand and it instantly popped up into shape. The tent comes with 4 sand bags and I had filled them with sand. I found that placing the sandbags along one edge of the floor of the tent kept it steady enough in the wind for me to be able to fill the 4 outer pockets around the base of the tent with sand. The tent comes with tent pegs and tie-downs too but on the sand, I found the sand bags worked perfectly as you can see in my photos. The tent seems well made with all the stitching looking good and no weak looking seams. There are two pockets inside the tent to stash things and also a hook in the top of the roof that would support a very lightweight light source. The shade provided is really good. The weather today is 89ºF and the sand was hot under foot. But inside the tent and in it’s shadow it was noticeably cooler. In fact it was so pleasant inside the tent our dogs wanted to take over and make it their space! There is a permanently open mesh panel on each of the tent sides which allow nice ventilation inside the tent and there is also a mesh window on the back which can be open or closed off as you wish. We found in the very windy conditions that it helped to stop the wind being blown too much by leaving it open so that there was a welcome stream of air passing through the tent. My wife is 5 feet 7 inches tall and was able to stretch out fully inside on the floor of the tent. There was still room for me to stretch out comfortably beside her too. If you just need shade you could easily fit 3 people inside if they are seated facing the tent opening, or lying down if you don’t mind your legs sticking out. For small children this would provide a great, comfortable, shaded area for 3 of 4 kids. The whole thing folds up easily into a handy carry bag. It took me about a minute or so to fold it. There are instructions on the inside of the carry bag if you need them. We are looking forward to trying it out as a lunch break station on the high ground on one of our forest hikes. This tent is pretty awesome as it "pops" up and is easy to assemble. Mine came with a duplicate 1st page of instructions so we had a hard time taking it down. I reached out to Akaso for instructions and they were VERY responsive and sent them in an email. This is still a little difficult to put down, but I'm sure with practice it will get easier. Keeps the heat off of us and the kids really enjoy just sitting/playing in it outside on hot days. At first I gave this a 4 star because the directions were wrong and it was difficult to put down. This is a nice four-person tent intended to provide shade for up to four people. Included with the tent is a carrying case, four tent stakes, four sand bags, a guy line, and a small instruction manual that's sewn into the carrying case. The tent is easy to set up, you simply pull it from its disk-shaped carrying case and place it on the ground where it'll unfold. All you need to do is arrange the opening in the direction you want and stake the tent down. Its also very portable, as the tent folds into a circle about the same circumference as a collapsible laundry basket. The only problem I've had with the tent so far is that it was initially hard to figure out how to fold it. In my opinion, the instructions were a bit hard to follow and I struggled to get the tent back into its carrying case the first time I used it. However, once I figured it out the process was simple enough. Also, although I haven't had problems with tears or structural issues, the tent was so inexpensive, I wonder how many times it will be able to unfold and fold without failing. Regardless, its been a great value for the cost and I have no problems recommending this to other potential buyers. ... show more
