I bought this for my 89 year old mother who has glaucoma and macular degeneration but is an avid reader. We tried using books downloaded to a tablet but the screen lighting irritated her eyes. She uses this every day to finish reading the newspaper when her eyes start getting blurry after about 30 mins of reading with her glasses. She reads by natural light from the window and whenever it gets cloudy and darker, she’ll turn on the light that’s built in and can continue to read without any issues. It’s been a real blessing for her. I also used it to be able to see and get with tweezers a small cactus thorn in my heel that I could feel but couldn’t see. Okay I like the Magnifying Glass. It does the job - BUT (and there is always a BUT). It is heavy- Very Heavy! I am always concerned it going to slip out of my hand and hit the floor! So far THAT has not happened. But it does the job I need it for. So if you are a weak wristed person you might want to try another one. Just received my Aixpl magnifying glass which was delivered the next day as promised and to my door as instructed. So thank you Amazon. What I most like about this one is its 30x magnification. So no need for a separate built in lens getting in the way of my field of vision. Unfortunately, and why I gave it only 4 stars, it is very heavy. I have arthritis in my hands and wrists and I can only hold it for a few minutes before I have to put it down or switch hands. ... show more

I really like this magnifying glass. I even use it with my kindle paperwhite to blow up the pictures I can't see regularly... it is a little heavy but not enough to make me not want to use it. The quality of vision is excellent no matter how far you have to pull it away. Now if they could just make another one a little smaller and lighter that could be carried in a purse or pocket.
