Makes reading small print on anything easy. I used to take a picture of labels as I shopped, zooming in on the pictures, I was able to read the small print on supplement bottles, etc. I did not care for the little case. I received this as a gift from my sister who swears by. I thought it was an odd gift, so did she when she received hers from her daughter. But our minds quickly changed! It has a Nice chain. I ordered this as a gag gift for my boss and it did the trick. However, this is a heavy magnifying glass, not actually a monocle. If you're looking for a monocle to wear in your eye, go else where.
