  • Great Price for 8GB of VRAM; Random Knockoff Brand is Fine
Bought this for my work computer (3600X; 32GB 3200 RAM; A520M chipset) so I could game reasonably on break. Bought it after the RE4 remake came out. The 4GB VRAM of the old 580 was barely cutting it at minimum settings, but couldn't justify an expensive card for limited use. Debated a 6500 XT, and a 580 8GB model. Definitely made the right choice. It actually plays a smooth 60 FPS at medium-high (of course non-RT) settings. The fan curve is kinda all-or-nothing in regards to speed/volume, but whatever. It defaults to completely off, but the lowest it goes when rotating is about 50% speed (yes even with Afterburner). But with the fans off, unlike some, it does fine at idle (like 32-36C). Carries it's 1/3 of the support for REBAR for whatever that's worth, but I don't need to waste your time regurgitating easy to find specs. This 8GB 5500XT does what you would expect an 8GB 5500 XT to do. The off brand AISURIX (make up your own pronunciation), or whatever this knock off brand is, does fine. I was actually pleasantly surprised with the construction, packaging, etc. Clearly new (not a given from Amazon these days), clean, and solid construction. Plastic backplate is a negative, but so many companies seem to be selling cards with insulating plastic backplates these days; I guess enough people are voting with their wallets for cosmetics over temps. Normally I just remove it if it's not aluminum or some other temp-conductive material, but didn't bother since this doesn't get that hot. Temps have been fine; even at full load, it hasn't sustained above 60C (in a good airflow case). ... show more

  • Works great!
Has greatly increased the quality of my gaming and I have had no issues with it at all!

  • Better than used? Maybe...
So someone else posted an in depth review that pointed out that the cooling solution is, to put it mildly, suboptimal. This is true, and the card is noisy. Really noisy. Repasting it may help, but I shouldn't have to tear apart and repaste a brand new card. I feel like most people are coming here because of the hype from ToastyBros review. It does run 1080p well for the price. My main issue (and the reason I deducted a star) is with the build quality of the cooling solution. The plastic fan shroud is attached to the aluminum heat sink with some small screws. The aluminum isn't tapped properly for them so they just fall out. I noticed this while I was trying to install the card. One just fell out--right into the graphics card slot! If I hadn't noticed and tried to jam the card in there it would've been a catastrophe. Pros: It's a new card. It's cheap and available. It's a great option for a budget build. Cons: It's loud. The build quality isn't great. All told, I'm not sure if you're better off with this or a used mining card from your local Cryptobro. This is new, but they definitely made some compromises to hit this price point. ... show more

  • Good bang for the buck...
I purchased this for a budget build. Didn't want to spend a lot of money. It arrived on time and in one piece. Runs great with no issues. I'm running nearly 120 fps in Tom Clancy's The Division 1 and 2. Great performance in every game. Highly recommend if you are on a budget.

  • Buena y barata
La compre pricipalmete para hacer un upgrade al equipo, funciona bien con programas de edicion (Blender,3d max. etc) apesar que con algunos juegos se escucha un poco por lo general es bastante silenciosa

  • Worked fine right out of the box!
This video card was exactly what I needed and it worked fine right out of the box. The ony real gripe I have is, it's a bit older so it has 3 displayport slots and only 1 hdmi, I think the newer cards have more hdmi and less display port. None of my monitors happened to have displayport ports so that was a little bit problematic for me, but it was resolved easily. I would recommend this card for someone needing to upgrade an older card without buying a fancier card. ... show more

  • Defective card. Wouldnt play any game or video for longer then a few minutes.
Purchased this card with the rest of the components needed to build my other have a new low budget gaming computer. She plays odd games that use things like openGL 2.0. After I was done building it, got it all set up and tried out her 2 favorite games. One was playable for awhile but the other crashed to desktop each time. Youtube also would crash and restart the computer. I fiddled with a few drivers. Getting everything updated. Thinking maybe it was the wi-fi on the board, but didnt resolve the issue. As I hate dealing with software issues, I let it sit for a couple of weeks. Then had surgery on my back which didnt go as it should of. Needless to say by the time I was able to actually sit down and start working on the build again, it was well past the return date AND any product support date. Well come to find out, it wasnt drivers or wi-fi, it was this card. If you dont buy the extended warranty, Id stay well away from this card and this seller. ... show more

  • One fan didn't work.
The fan closer to the rear panel made a lot of noise at first then stopped, so I assumed it started spinning correctly after a bearing got better in the groove but it wasn't spinning at all, so I had to return it then went with the RX 580 instead, but when it did work, it worked pretty great. A little stuttering but I think that was likely due to heat from a defective exhaust fan. Crashed once after the driver update then rolled back and re-installed and it didn't crash again. Nice small card, again, if it works. ... show more
