I got an idea that I wanted a hummingbird fountain. I'd seen videos of hummers taking "baths" in a gently bubbling fountain and thought "I could do that!". This solar pump came up in my search and what I loved about it was the idea that I could either have the solar panel off to the side, out of the water, or in the water itself. Unfortunately, I failed to notice the length of the cord. It's only 4ft long. In my garden, that still puts it under the shade of the tree where the bird bath is located. So.. I left the solar panel attached to the pump and put it in the birdbath. Even with filtered sun, it has impressive power! I have no attachments installed and on a sunny day, the spout goes up easily a foot into the air! I am very pleased with the features, including the little "legs" that prevent it from wandering all over the bird bath. It's also very easy to clean, so even though it's not going to work as my hummingbird shower, I'll keep it! ... show more

We, my family and I, love it. It's always nice to have a water feature in your garden. However we haven't seen even one bird at it. Still it's lovely.

Once paired with a decently deeper birdbath the birds spent no time finding this en masse, bathing themselves in the heat of the day. There were at least 6 birds at a time enjoying the shower of cool water I just put in the birdbath. I thought the fountain emptied the basin out quickly but was actually the birds fighting to bath in the cool water that knocked a lot out. I paired this with a decently sturdy birdbath I found on Amazon(https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01HC76V9C?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details) that I actually liked, just use better staples to hold it down than the ones that come with it. ... show more

    • Ad does not mention that it needs FULL sunlight
This fountain needs full exposure to the sun in order to perform as seen in the video. If a cloud goes over or leaves get in the way forget it. Overcast or haze also reduce it to useless inch high spurts of water. I have to say that I am disappointed.

Got it for the bird bath but if it is not in full sun it sputters. When the sun is it is great the suction cups on the pump doesn't stay on the bottom of the bowl.

I had a weaker solar pump before that died after the panel got fogged up from sitting in water. They are cheap, if they last more than 6 months I’m happy. I love that I can separate the panel from the pump. I didn’t add the attachment to split it into several taller streams to prevent water from escaping the birdbath, I’d say that the spray is about 4” tall, makes a pleasant bubbling sound as well. ... show more

Works great in my bird bath. Pull out the arms and place in bowl. With this type of solar fountain, you are more limited than using the detached solar panel type as far as placement but the detached type is limited by the cord length. Consider which is best for you if you have large trees. Overall, I love this one. ... show more
