    • Excellent Quality, but Some Unusual Design Choices Should Be Considered
Style: Basic Bag Size: 25L-45L
This is a 25L-45L item that it works as a briefcase or as a backpack. There are handles on the top and side, and both are comfortably padded with reinforced stitching. The main compartment fully opens like a suitcase, and the front and rear compartments are top-loading, which is ideal for ensuring that items do not fall out. The zippers have water resistant concealment and they open/close with smooth precision. The expansion pocket is simply awesome - it dramatically increases interior volume. I like this pack, but there are some unusual design choices that caused me to deduct one star from this review. The water bottle pocket should be on the outside. It is oddly large and takes up too much interior space. It sounds like it would be a good idea, but it makes bottle access difficult. The front pocket does not reach all the way to the base and there should be a top front pocket but there isn’t. Alternatively, there is a nice rear pocket, but the zipper is concealed by the luggage strap. Again, it sounds like a thoughtful feature, but access is compromised. There are straps on the side that have to be fed through a buckle when they should absolutely have a quick-release clasp. Not having a release is simply a bad idea. Also, those two straps are very long and dangly. Lastly, the exterior looks too “plastic fantastic” for my taste. It’s a great size that provides lots of packing options, and I appreciate the excellent quality and construction. The shoulder straps are particularly good - they have a textured underside that allows plenty of air movement. Also, the horizontal chest compression straps is fully adjustable for height and width. I take this on all my trips. Holds my Xbox, my tablet, all my various charging cables for the family, and a lot of clothes as well. And all those items have their own homes in this backpack, along with my charging brick that I hook up to the USB port, making it so convenient to not have to open the backpack. These have been very trendy over the last few years. The build is exceptional, and storage is very space saving or expansive. You choose! I've packed it to the max several times and the zippers stay put, and it doesn't rip. Also it helps that it's not expensive. Everyone in my house has one. And now I do too! ... show more

One of the troubles I've found with travel backpacks is that they aren't actually all that helpful with passing through security. This backpack, on the other hand, has a dedicated section for the electronics that is in its own pocket and easily accessible. It's big enough to hold my laptop and iPad, and it makes it very easy to take them out to put in their own bins when going through security.
