They're designed to fit such popular vehicles as ¾ ton and one-ton pickup trucks, many Class A, B & C motor homes, and commercial trucks and other severe uses. LoadLifter 5000 Fully adjustable, LoadLifter 5000 kits have real air muscle, and keep your vehicle riding level and comfortable with no load, loaded, or towing on any road condition. Air Lift's toughest air helper springs, they have up to 5,000 pounds of leveling capacity, right up to the manufacturer's recommended Gross Vehicle Weight Rating, and are air adjustable from 5 to 100 PSI. Rugged and durable, the superior 2-ply fabric reinforced air springs are built like a tire. Ultra high-strength Zytel nylon end caps – strong as steel, but less heavy, and corrosion proof – complete the air springs. Your kit will also include Air Lift's exclusive upper and lower roll plates that increase load capacity by 10 percent and protect the air spring from sharp edges such as brackets, etc. All kits are engineered to be easy to install and come with a fully illustrated instruction manual. Why Air? Factory suspensions must compromise between ride comfort and load hauling capacity. Soft factory suspensions can't carry heavy loads, and heavy steel springs ride rough, especially when the vehicle is unloaded. Only air springs can support your heavy loads and provide a great ride. Air Lift adjustable air springs solve these common problems by allowing you to tune your suspension under all load and road conditions. Just add air when towing or hauling and then remove air for a softer ride when unloaded. Eliminate these common load and towing problems for good when you use Air Lift air springs: Sag – Proper weight distribution to all tires improves steering, braking and tire wear. This is especially important while towing: adjust the air springs to accept the tongue weight of the trailer or other heavy loads. Headlight aim – Only level and stable vehicles provide safe and proper headlight aiming – critical for night driving safety. Rough ride – Air Lift's progressive spring rate soaks up bumps, keeping tires on the road for better handling. Bottoming out – Air Lift springs restore normal ride height when heavily loaded or towing, reducing suspension wear and eliminating crashing on bumps. Sway and body roll – Air springs increase spring rate and vastly improve vehicle stability. When towing trailers, the air springs permit precise vehicle height adjustment for exact alignment, reducing trailer sway. Less roll and sway means a safer and more comfortable ride. Porpoising – Even heavy pickups which don't squat when loaded can begin to "porpoise" vertically when towing heavy trailers. Progressive rate air springs dramatically reduce this problem for a safer, more comfortable ride. Suggested Accessories For maximum convenience and leveling on-the-go, nothing beats an Air Lift on board air compressor system. Automatic or dash-mounted, it quickly adjusts your vehicle for changes in load or road conditions. Air Lift compressor systems are the most advanced in the industry and work with all brands of air springs. Best Warranty in the Business Air Lift Company warrants that the LoadLifter 5000 air spring system will be free from defects in workmanship or materials for the lifetime of the vehicle of original installation. This does not include installation or other service charges for replacement. • Post-Install Review on 06 GMC 2500HD Post-Install Review on 06 GMC 2500HD
Color: Nylon Air Line Size: Up to 5,000 lbs Style: Standard Air Spring
I installed this on a 2006 GMC 2500HD. This was a great kit to install. All parts accounted for (5 out of 5) and the instruction manual was.... 4 out of 5. It's not super clear that the frame needs to be supported by the jack stands (so that the axle can drop). I also had a minor conflict I needed to correct AND I revised the install procedure for the top air spring bracket. See install tips below. No leaks. I have not road tested yet. My first camping trip for the season isn't until June (I have a slide in truck camper that weighs about 2500#). I will elaborate on performance after my first trip. I wanted to share some tips for other viewers after installing this earlier today: 1. Consider removing the spare tire from under the bed. Not a necessity (I didn't) but I would have had room to at least sit upright beneath the truck. 2. Frame support. I have 12 ton jack stands that I bought (for height and not necessarily support) for my rock crawler project. I placed these before the rear axle, just in front of the frame rails transition from tube steel to c channel. The plastic fuel tank on the driver side is notched for strapping, so a jackstand will fit there (after removing the parking brake brackets and shifting the parking brake cables out of the way). FYI- the axle doesn't need to "full drop", but you do need to be able to move it independent of the truck frame by a few inches. If you have limited support material for the frame (wood, cinderblocks, whatever), you can always remove the rear wheels to give yourself more "axle drop distance"... Just remember not to set your axle down on the brake rotors or flimsy backing plates. 3. Instructions state that some models may have to remove a factory u-bracket from the axle housing tube (presumably with a cutoff wheel). My axle housing did not have this bracket, BUT the driver side lower shock mount was a bit too high and did not allow the lower air spring bracket to sit flat on the driver side jounce pad. I removed about 3/32" of material from the factory lower shock mount (4-1/2" angle grinder) to provide clearance for the lower shock mount and lower air spring bracket (last image). 4. Instructions state to install upper brackets to the air springs on your work bench prior to install. I started this way, but installing the upper bolts through the C-channel frame was a real trick with the top roll plate in the way. All kinds of crap in the way on the truck... Exhaust tail piece being one of those things. I ended up installing the upper brackets separate from the air springs, so I could "run up" the nylon lock nuts with an impact and an extension. I positioned the bracket, pushed it inboard (per the instructions) and ran the nuts up. When you put the air springs back into place, the top roll plate mounting bolts can be manipulated through the upper bracket, through the top roll plate, and into the air spring IF you drop the axle so that there is a 1/2 inch gap between the top roll plate and upper bracket (with the air spring and lower bracket, preassembled, sitting flat on the factory axle jounce pad). 5. Plumbing. On a GMT800, the best plumbing route is inside of the frame "c-channels". The welded cross members are notched at the corners where they meet the inside of the frame rails, with plenty of room to pass 3/8 inch flex conduit (I wrapped flex conduit around the air lines, because... Why not?). There are access points right at the air spring PTC fitting to drop down your air line to the air spring. That's it for now. It's a good kit as far as parts quality and instruction is concerned... It's just a crappy job depending on the truck. Looking forward to updating this review for performance (because that means I'm out camping). ... show more

  • Good product, long and hopefully helpful review Good product, long and hopefully helpful review
Color: Nylon Air Line Size: Up to 5,000 lbs Style: Standard Air Spring
Installed on a 2010 GMC 2500HD. Installed full kit along with Air Lift on board compressor and gauges. To start of with this seems to be a great product. Just installed it today. This is a long review but hopefully it will help the next person. Do not try to install this if you are a beginner DIY mechanic. I am by no means a professional but I have installed 100's of snow plows, spreaders, and de-icer systems so I do have plenty of experience with after market accessories. I would try this unless you're at least an intermediate mechanic, even if just for the necessary tools. All in all I probably had about 7 hours in the install (alone) but a good 1.5hr was just figuring out where I wanted to mount the compressor, gauges, and solenoid. I did the full kit with on board compressor. The kit came very well packaged in manufacturers boxing, all the hoses, hardware, pieces where there and packaged separately. I strongly suggest reading the instructions thoroughly a couple times before starting. They skip around a bit and have important notes but are not in order. Some of the instructions say to use a torque wrench which first of all most DIY guys dont even have. Unless it's just this kit, you will not be able to get a torque wrench on the upper bolts as it says to. Take your time and plan your install. You will need jack stands and a good jack. The instructions say to support the axel with jack stands which is incorrect. You'll want to support the frame with jack stands so you can use the jack to move the rear end up and down to accommodate installation. With the airlines, btw not 1 leak after installed, take your time with your cuts. Make sure they are very cleanly cut and not beveled edges. I made sure my cuts were perfect and left plenty of slack not only for movement but incase I had to re-cut. I used a sharp razor. When you push them into the fitting you'll feel a slight pop, you need to push them in farther to seat the airline. This is probably where most people have air issues. They will slightly pop and then slide in an additional 1/8 to 1/4 inch. Practice before you try under the truck, the are easy to remove my pushing the pressure fitting in and pulling the hose back out. The compressor works great up to about 50lbs then it does slow down a bit but what would you expect from a tankless system under $200. Pumped up to 90lbs for test in about 3 or 4 minutes. When installing the wiring you will want a couple "add a fuse" kits to tie in to the fuse panels. Most parts stores have them for about $7. They are not in the kit. Last but not least I used the extra onions and 1 that I bought to run a single manual line to the rear number just incase the compressor goes out towing or just to keep a safe pressure in them for driving. Hope this helps a little. ... show more

  • Great Product
Color: Nylon Air Line Size: Up to 5,000 lbs Style: Standard Air Spring
I bought these because they were a lot less expensive than the Firestone version. Frankly, they do the same thing for a lot less cash. Installation was easy, but I added convoluted electrical harness conduit the entire length of the air lines to protect them from chafing and wearing a hole in them. They provide band ties, but I used about 10 more (from my stash) to get the air lines bundled up the way I wanted. You can purchase the conduit and band ties at your favorite local auto parts store or here on Amazon. My installation is with a single schrader valve that passes thru one of my rear license plate mounting holes, I didn't desire having to put air in twice and have no need to level the truck from side to side. This single schrader required purchasing a couple extra parts, a tee, and two quick connect couplers for the air lines. A word of advice here: Do NOT buy automotive quick connect couplers, they are $8+ and up, and are metal that WILL corrode and eventually cause you problems. Go to your local plumbing store and purchase the plastic ones made for 1/4" water lines with 1/8" pipe thread on the other end. The plastic versions go for about $2.50 each. They work great, are corrosion proof, and my system has not leaked down since the intallation. Okay, the air bags: They work great! They level out my truck when I have a load on it and that is exactly what I wanted them for. They ride smooth when I have a load and add air to the bags, and ride smooth when there is no load and reduce the air to the bags. Would I buy these again? You bet I would. There is no reason to pay more for these than you have to, and Amazon has them for less money than anyone else. ... show more

This is by far the best air spring kit available. Very easy to install if you follow the directions. All the hardware was easy to lay out. Simple to use and had no leaks. It makes my truck level and feel more stable with a trailer attached.

  • No problems.
Color: Nylon Air Line Size: Up to 5,000 lbs Style: Standard Air Spring
I am not a gear head, but have common sense. I watched a couple youtube videos, laid out my project on my floor and installed this thing. It took me longer because I didn't find a place in my 2003 extended cab Duramax to put the air gauge/controller because of the airlines running out the back and stuff. I ended up deciding to run the gauge inside my tool box mounted in the bed of the truck and I mounted my air compressor underneath the tool box in the "void" space between the side of the toolbox and the side of the bed. This keeps the pump out of most of the elements! I decided it wasn't super important to have the gauge in the cab of the truck after reading the countless people who don't even use an on-board compressor, they fill up each bag before a trip and just go! I wanted to be able to adjust the air easily at the campground after dumping my 10,500 pound trailer. The ride with airbags is night and difference when towing a lot of weight. My perfect ride after a couple trips... 26 pounds give or take two. When empty, I keep it on the recommended 5 pounds. I installed these last October before our last long trip of summer. I have had zero problems with them. They hold 5 pounds for 3-4 weeks at a time before the needle just slips to 4 pounds. With the air-compressor gauge/controller mounted on the inside of the toolbox on the driver side, it is real easy to once a week give a peek to insure I am at 5 pounds. I kind of went overkill on running the airlines, I went to Home Depot electrical dept. and bought around 20' of the plastic wire sheathing, I think 3/8" diameter. Anywhere the plastic air hose lines could possibly come in contact with anything is protected in the plastic sheathing. I then zip tied the heck out of everything. I have 5000 plus miles on the truck since October and the lines have not moved. When the instructions say cut a perfect 90 degree cut to the line, they mean it. It took me an hour chasing down a couple leaks with some dish soap in a spray bottle full of water, but I found them, re-cut even though the already appeared to be cut properly and everything eventually worked. When I initially ran the lines, I ran a few inches extra length just to give me room if I ever need to fix something. This worked out nicely because when I pulled lines out and trimmed off a 1/4" at a time I had plenty to reinsert to try and get the good seal. At first I was worried about the plastic fittings, but have had zero issues and it is not like I will be messing with them now that they are installed and holding air. I didn't want to mess with running wires to power the air-compressor into my cab since I mounted the air-compressor and controller in the aforementioned location so I just ran the power straight to the battery accessory bolt in the red box next to my driver side battery. Everything works great and I would buy this product again. ... show more

  • Great product, just know anything can happen when ordering 3rd party...
Color: Nylon Air Line Size: Up to 5,000 lbs Style: Standard Air Spring
So, the product is great. I started with a delivery of this product that had all kinds of the wrong items and missing hardware. I don't know what happened there but when I opened the box to do an inventory check, I knew real quick that this isn't correct. I did a return with Amazon and they quickly took care of the problem. Within 2 day's I had an un-tampered with product that I had expected to receive. The replacement however, had 1 of a set of 4 bolts that were incorrectly packaged and I had to get a correct sized carriage bolt from the hardware store. The larger/incorrect carriage bolt was obviously a mistake made @ the Air-Lift factory. The first debacle is a mystery to me. I'm not going to take away any stars in my rating for the product though 'cause we're all human and we make mistakes sometimes. In addition, I'm gonna take away from the fast and prompt re-send of the replacement product from Amazon, 'cause some "people" are just not right, and I know that "Amazon" didn't have anything to do with whatever was in that 1st shipment, it was truly out of sorts! So here I stand, with a great set of airbags that are built well and functioning properly, just know that "you" need to be aware of what you're supposed to be getting with something like this, like maybe going to a manufacturer's website and know what certain brackets are supposed to look like and what to expect in the way of fastening hardware, or you might just be out a bunch of money, time and effort. Good product and thank you Amazon for promptly providing a replacement! ... show more
