    • Light works fine but the base is awful
Installing this light was the least fun thing I've done recently. Even before mounting it to the ceiling, I checked the fitment of the light housing to the plastic base, and sure enough it didn't fit correctly. Everything is plastic so everything flexes, and that makes it a challenge to get the base and housing to fit together. The base had so much excess plastic around the seams that I ended up having to sand the outer edge in order to get it to properly fit into the mounting channel on the light housing.     • "Light-switch-flicking" is how to change the light softness feature
I was skeptical at best when I read that you change the softness of the light by "light-switch-flicking". But it actually works. Similar in nature to the old-fashioned way of changing an outdoor light from "motion activated" to "steady on", by rapidly switching the wall switch, you can adjust the "color" light softness of this light. Whatever degrees you leave it in, that's the starting point the next time it's turned on. Kinda cool -- instead of having to choose a particular softness when you install it, you can adjust the coolness on-the-go -- to match the mood you want to set. The installation is a bit difficult, but I kinda cheated. The base plate is plastic. so I heated it with a hair dryer, and bent it slightly so that the pieces that go into the light fixture were "droopy", allowing them to mate up with their counter part in the fixture while the fixture was just a bit lower from the ceiling. Then when I matched them up, and turned the fixture the 1/8th turn needed, that drew the fixture up tighter to the ceiling. Other than the installation, the other thing that was marginal in my opinion was how "plastic-y" this fixture feels. However, once it's in, that doesn't make any difference, as no one will ever feel the plastic-y-ness of it when it's on the ceiling. Having said that, it does put out a decent amount of light, with no heat at all, and the diffuser does a very good job of giving the whole room even lighting with no bright spots or shadows. Overall, it's a good light, with slight installation challenges, and a cool way to set the mood for the lighting it provides. So we'll go with a full 5-stars, knowing that it really is 4-1/2 stars rounded up for reporting here! ... show more

This flush mount ceiling light works good however it could have came packaged a little better because it arrived with some micro scratches but they are very hard to notice unless you are looking for them. The fixture is extremely lightweight and very easy to install and wire up and comes with the screws and the wire nuts and even anchors if you wanted to put it anywhere on a drywall ceiling but keep in mind you will have to run power to it. My biggest issue with the light is that it is not actually 24 watts and in all three colors it barely touches 19 watts which is equivalent to about two regular led light bulbs. 24 watts would have been closer to 3 regular light bulbs so I honestly don't think that I will be using this product in my home unless I end up putting it in a closet or something. The colors seem pretty accurate and it is very easy to switch the colors through a light switch which is very nice because other fixtures have a switch on the back that you have to take the light down to switch so that is very convenient and it also claims to be dimmable and I have not tested that feature. I like the white but I don't like the false power advertising and it is right on the edge of acceptable in my opinion. ... show more
