I was very surprised by the quality of this helmet - in a good way! At this price point, I was expecting poor quality and inevitable traumatic brain injuries in the event of an actual collision wearing it. I purchased this as a spare for when an unanticipated riding buddy comes along with us and borrows a quad or bike. However, I actually plan on replacing my primary helmet with this one. The foam padding is removable and of good quality, the shell and attached parts are rigid, and it has the "feel" of a good helmet. VERY comfortable and a perfect fit as well. I would expect to pay $80+ for a helmet like this, so you will not be disappointed. Buy it cheap before they catch on and increase the price! ... show more

    • Decent quality entry level helmet for an affordable price.
This is a decent starter helmet for younger kids riding in grass at reasonable speeds. The fit is very good and the outer shell feels very durable. It is DOT approved but know that this is the lowest level of the three helmet safety ratings. Once you or your child start to ride serious dirt, street and at high speeds then you need to upgrade the helmet beyond the minimum DOT rating. For the money, you can't ask for a better made helmet. This helmet's quality easily rivals helmet's that are 2-3 times the price. I do find that this particular helmet runs slightly small, so if you find yourself between sizes, get the larger size. The helmet is useful for ATV'ing, although it certainly could be used for BMX as well. If there's any constructive criticism for this product, it is that the helmet can get hot (or it's actually your head getting hot from having the helmet on). ... show more
