    • This atomizer does heat up water.
I feel I need to share with potential buyers that if you are buying this to use for hydration of plants or animals and they are temperature sensitive you should use a timer in conjunction with this as to not cause it to get hot. The water starts to get warm in about 30 minutes so depending on your air circulation and ventilation you will want to monitor its effect on the temperature in the environment you are using it. I have it set for 20 minutes every 2 hours and this seems to keep the temp just perfect for my project as I'm looking to keep the environment below 79 degree Fahrenheit. Other that that I created a custom splash guard by cutting a 16 oz rubbing alcohol container. I cut it about 3.75 inches long and cut out a triangle in each panel, thus creating legs and space for it to breath. Good luck it does work but you may need to do some DIY to make it work best for ur project. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. It sprays water everywhere… it would be fine to use in a fish tank or pond though, I guess. I wanted something to put in a plastic cauldron for a Halloween party that would add a little bit of bubbling mist to our dessert table. And, it did turn on the second I plugged it in and it DID generate a little rolling mist but it also sprays water several inches directly up in the air above it which drenched the counter where I was trying it out. It is also pretty cheap/thin plastic, but I got it for $10 so that wasn’t too big of a deal for me. But I couldn’t use it for what I bought it for and I think they should’ve been a bit more clear on HOW much water it constantly spews up into the air. I bought these for a humidifier project. Of the three I have been using, two still work great after two weeks of constant use. One stopped working after a few days, probably due to overheating because I pulled it right out of the water. After it broke, I have been careful to let the other two sit in the water for a just minute after I unplug them. They don't get hot on the outside but you can feel that they are warm if you take them out directly. Besides from the one failure, I am happy with the product. They are silent except for light splashing sounds and produce some real fog that will make everything wet if you don't contain it or put a fan on it. Using two with a fan for a few days has boosted the humidity in my house from 10-20% depending on where I measure. My previous use of store-bought humidifiers didn't seem to help much. I did have to make a floating basket to hold the foggers at the right level under the water. It works great and they are easy to clean. I use a Q-tip to keep the minerals from building up on the elements. ... show more

    • Spits a ton, but otherwise works great.
I used this product for an indoor decoration. It's not ideal for that purpose because in addition to making a lot of mist it throws a lot of water droplets. I managed to modify my setup to make it work, however, and it has performed admirably in every other way. I've been using it with reverse osmosis water for half an hour a day for months. The sensor that detects when the mister is dry also works reliably. ... show more

This works great as a fogged in a 5 gallon bucket aeroponics/fogponics system. I will be using it to try and speed up the grow time for some ghost peppers I am growing (the hotter the pepper, they slower they grow). It takes 10 minutes of fogging with the lid covered to fill up the bucket, the fog doesn't come pouring out or anything but the entire inside of the bucket will be covered in super fine mist. I made a float for mine out of a 3" net pot, 2 small zip ties, and the leftover filler foam from some 3" cloning collars (used to keep the fog in the bucket). One photo is of the fogged in the bucket with a fan blowing the fog away so you can see, and the other two are of the home made float. It keeps the mister right under the surface and really kicks up the fog. ... show more

    • Works Great on a Budget
If you want a quality made product at a low price this is it. It is made of quality material and I have had no problems with it, well other than having to fill the pool of water several times a day because I like how it fogs my lizards tank. The only negative is my fault and am looking for the cure, which is the substrate is soaking up the water, this being coconut fiber, which in the past I had problems with mold growing. I put a heating pad up underneath the tank but does not seem to help so far. We will see what becomes of it!!! This was a speedy delivery and have no complaints!!! Thanks very much! ... show more

This item misted properly in my fish tank for about 1 week and then it all of a sudden stopped producing mist. I've tried testing the device in other containers and water and it is no longer responding. I attempted to get assistance with product support for a return/replacement and there are no easy options to get assistance. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND BUYING THIS PRODUCT, buy elsewhere. ... show more

    • Good gizmo for the price, but a little tricky
This is good for the price. It generates quite a bit of mist when you get it set up correctly. However, it is quite sensitive to water level: if the level is too high or too low the mist quantity diminishes. The fountain also spits quite a bit of water, and quite high in the air! We had it in a deep plastic pitcher and it still splashed over the top. It also damaged the plastic where the fountain got too close to the side. Not sure whether it was from heat or from the ultrasonics, but be careful what you put close to the fountain outliet. ... show more
