  • USA MetroPCS Compatable in 2024. A millenial's review.
This phone is compatible with MetroPCS, however they will not let me continue my grandfathered in old phone plan. They want me to pick another (more expensive) "Flex" plan. I believe this is the case for any phone i switch to, not just because this is a special "dumb" phone. As for the phone itself? Awesome. If you are looking for a phone straight out of 2005 that you can use on today's networks, this one is it. It doesn't lag. It not some Kai-os sudo-android interface running on slow hardware causing lagging and crashing. It's a true dumb phone. The software feels like a true dumb phone. But it also has a few tricks up it's sleeve: - Bluetooth - Dual Sims - Calculator - Flashlight - Micro-SD card slot - Something like 32mb of onboard storage - Plays Mp3's. They can play in the background, so you can have music going while texting someone. Yes, this WORKS WITH BLUETOOTH headphones or your car, and yes, it actually sounds good. Play them off the tiny internal memory or a Micro-SD card. You can also plug the USB cable it comes with from the phone to your computer and access both the Micro-SD card slot and the phone's internal memory as separate drives. So you don't need a Micro-SD card reader on your computer. - FM Radio (doesn't work with bluetooth headphones for some reason, but you can play it through the speakerphone) - Upload your own ringtones and notification sounds. You can store them on the Micro-SD card or the internal memory. - Camera. It's garbage. Even by early 2000's standards its garbage. But it does exist, you can send and receive pictures, store them internally, upload them to your computer through USB, etc. I don't plan on using it, but if my wife wants to send me a picture of something, at least i can see it. You kind of need a camera phone to do that with. Non-camera dumb phones typically don't receive pictures of have screens capable of rendering pictures. This one will do it. It is a little big and cheap feeling, but I don't think dropping it will break it. It has kind of that "jitterbug" old people phone aesthetic more in real life than in the pictures. But as a millennial who's first cellphone was a Kyocera K7 Rave running on Virgin Mobile for 25 cents per minute, this phone has my approval as an official dumb-phone if you're trying to take your life back from phone addiction. ... show more

  • Didn't work on my carrier!
AGM M6. I switched from my Nokia 1208 to AGM m6 before Tmobile's June '22 deadline about the 3g network. The external speaker for this phone is pretty awesome for the fm radio. It's like a home console as far as fidelity. But it doesn't do a thing for the phone function at all. I still have to put the phone to me ear to hear my caller. Actually it's inferior to the pin sized phone earpiece if I truely compare the two. Phone can only handle about 30 contacts wo added memory. I could put 400 in my 1208. But the thing that irks me the most is that right after I switched sims I began to get inundated with calls from teen boys who claim they are in Canada trying to get me to buy viagra. Like four, five times a day. They are so friq'uen relentless. I tried all sorts of tactics to get them to stop calling me. This all began in June right after I got the phone. It is still going on today. I down to about 3x's a week now. And quite honestly, the texting function is pretty obnoxious. It's doable, but nav'ing around this phone is a little tedisome. Lastly, re: TMobile .. I was on the phone with them on more than one occaision to find out from different sources if they would entertain this phone. I always got a go ahead from them. Nope! not in this part of New York. THIS PHONE DOES NOT DO TMOBILE! I would though, highly reccommend a phone from Sunbeam Wireless. Right here in the good ole USA's Michigan! Awesome minimalist phone. BasicOS, Nav, v to txt, and weather features for $3.50/month. ...ONE MORE TIME, AGM DOESN'T DO TMOBILE ... show more

  • Sturdy, simple, but flawed. Still decent for price.
Decent phone, very sturdy as advertised. Limited functionality, but they market it as such, so if that is what you are seeking, it meets expectations. Unfortunately the phone has very limited memory and only comes with a few ringtone, but this can quickly be altered with a micro sd and a computer. The menu is a little annoying to navigate at times because it doesn't have a list mode, only a grid, and the texting is ok except for the phone not adding new words to the dictionary no matter how many times I try it, which is very annoying. Better than not having T9 at all, though. I would recommend this phone over the Easyfone A1 Pro any day. It has a strong flashlight, music player, recorder, and the camera is not as bad as I was led to believe-- you just need to increase the photo quality and get the SD card. Overall, worth 50 bucks, especially if you only do talk and text. Hopefully the developer will add an update that fixes the texting dictionary problem. Dual SIM cards is cool, but unusual in the US. ... show more

  • Very, very basic phone with excellent 4G LTE reception !!!
Wow... I love this phone. It has excellent 4G LTE reception both outdoors and indoors. I use it with the Tello plan (T-Mobile network): unlimited minutes, unlimited texts and only 1GB of data. This phone does not require data, but it is necessary for sending and receiving MMS and RCS messages. Now about the phone: if I am not mistaken, the last time I used such a phone was in the late 90s - early 2000s. This is a very simple phone without Wi-Fi, GPS, Browser, Applications, only Bluetooth, Calendar, Clock and Calculator. From multimedia there is: FM Radio, Music, Video, Photos and a Voice recorder. That's it. The speaker is very loud. FM radio works without a 3.5 mm jack, through an external speaker, and does not work via Bluetooth. Both SIM card slots work fine (the second SIM card I use is Speedtalk Wireless, to be honest, I do not like this company). If you are looking for a very, very simple phone, then you have found it. I am keeping this phone. ... show more
