The only other thermal I’ve owned was a Thor LT (the cheapest version) and I was pretty disappointed in that one. I’ve since learned that with thermals, if you aren’t willing to spend at least a few grand you shouldn’t even bother. This one is literally like night and day compared to that one. This far it’s body count is (this is from this year only): - 1 nilgai bull - 1 8 point buck (during the day) - 2 wild boars And I don’t even go hunting much. But I imagine there will be a lot more pigs added to this list this year. I’ve found it’s easy to correctly identify targets to 300 to 400 yards depending on conditions. And you can spot thermal signatures out to 500-700. That’s plenty for my use case. I’ve only engaged targets out to 200 (wild boars) but from a fixed position I would feel comfortable going out to 300. Again, plenty for my use case. Oh and the laser range finder was absolutely worth the extra money. It’s so convenient to just press a button and get a nearly instant range reading. Just don’t accidentally power it of instead (the buttons are right next to each other) as I’ve done before! Tl;dr if you need to hunt things at night, this is probably the best bang for your buck. ... show more

This thermal is great of course. If you’re looking at thermal scopes you already know this scope is good. Best price I could find anywhere. By taking an American Express Amazon business card it knocked off $200 instant. Plus it was a good price before. You might find a company running a special where you get a hand held scanner with the scope or a year end special. This was the best deal I could find in February. ... show more

The scope is awesome, shipping was a nightmare though, my suggestion is ordering directly from AGM. It took nearly 3 weeks to get on a “two day delivery” from Amazon. I don’t know who was at fault there but it was really irritating. As far as the scope goes it’s very easy to figure out the features and get it zeroed in. ... show more
