  • It is detachable from your platform and you could use it separately
Style: Tactical
I have always had a fear of being 100% dark in the wilderness. I am talking pitch dark that you can't even see your hand in front of yourself. It is very scary, alone, wet, in mud, and hearing weird noises in bushes. I had tried level I infrared and then even Flare which was totally useless. I even purchased high-watt Infrared laser to maybe see things further. Nothing passes 100 meters (If You are lucky). Till I got AGM Varmint LRF TS35-640. Oh My God, two nights ago I was watching in pitch dark three deers ruminating and scratching themselves. What a beautiful sight at 50 meters. Even I could see their individual hair. There is no more fear of the dark. Now I can see even more than 1000 meters. I could even see through clouds. I could see a possum at 90 meters. Pros: All above that I said and this device is unbelievable and I feel maybe it's something out of a science fiction novel. I sometimes ask myself are my eyes deceiving me or is this real? It is detachable and you could put it in your pocket and with the other hand carry a small pistol in the dark rather than a larger platform to get stuck in bushes. Cons: Can't see laser beam(it is not made for light) . One shot correction setup is not working. I asked them they said they are removing it on next software update due to confusion it has caused and go and calibrate your cross yourself (Doesn't even matter, I will find the correction to zero it finally) The flash protection setting. Is it necessary? if it is after only one shot system shot down to protect the camera and it took one minute to turn back on. Well, forget about follow-through shots because when it comes back all the hogs are gone! I am just afraid to disable the flash protection not to damage the sensors. Over all this needs 8 stars out of five! I hope it lasts a life time. Thank you. ... show more

  • But...Nice.
Style: TS35-384
Very nice scope, the lrf is super for ranging. My only dislike is so far the fully charged 18650 batteries only last 5 hrs. This is with all extras turned off, except the LRF. I wish it did have record on shot like my pulsar, but it's what it is. Thought I'd get more time out of the batteries. Otherwise it's great. ... show more

  • Best one I've owned yet, however.
Style: TS35-384
This is pending confirmation from AGM, but unlike the Rattler 25-384 and 35-384 (since sold) the Varmint 35-384 will not endure recoil from a .308 caliber. Not a bolt gun, not a semi auto, suppressed or unsuppressed. The screen glitches out or goes totally gray. The picture quality and LRF features are very cool. However, if the device won't withstand recoil from the guns that the whole point of the LRF exists to augment, then the device is relegated to "toy" status instead of being the serious "tool" it should be...for three thousand f*n dollars! If I call AGM and they say this unit is not the norm, I'll return to revise my remarks. .22 and 5.56mm no problem. .308...no way. Conversations with AGM say to ensure the battery cap is on tight. ... show more

Can't believe this was 25% off on Black Friday, been eyeing this for awhile and "had" to have it. Mine showed up sealed and brand new, I was leery since some people complained that they had received used/returned item. Tested at home in the backyard and happy with unit so far. Will update once I have a chance to test it in the field. ... show more

  • I spent almost $6k for this and it has been junk.
Style: TS50-640
The media could not be loaded. This is my second AGM product. I bought both about the same time. My first AGM scope had to go back to AGM for warranty repair and me be weeks and weeks without it. This particular scope has had very little use simply because of me working too much and not having time to use it like I had planned. I had initially mounted it on a .22 rifle just to get used to it and learn how to use it. All was well. It is a over an hour drive for me one way to get to the range, but today I mounted it to my .308 and made the trip. First shot, the screen went black. I thought maybe I bumped the power button by accident. I got it to come back on and each subsequent shot has made the unit malfunction and turn off. After tax, and everything, I paid almost $6k for this scope here on Amazon. My buddy has also purchased a different model of an AGM thermal and it too has had to go back. When it comes to such an expensive investment . . . buy American made. Update: 4/13/24 - I contacted AGM about this issue. The warranty service was great. I had to pay to ship it back. They replaced my unit and shipped it back to me. It took about 2 1/2 weeks total, but most of that time was shipping. After I get the new unit mounted and tested I will come back and update the review. Update 4/29/24: I made it to the range and put the new unit through its paces and I am happy to say it has performed very well so far. I shot it on a 556 and a 308 platform without any issues and was able to sight it in at 100yds on both guns. I will update again after I get a chance to have a night hunt. I was surprised the replacement unit did not come with the latest firmware installed so I did update it which loaded some new and improved reticle that I really like and look forward to using. ... show more

  • Range finder doesn't work
Style: TS35-384
The image is great for the money but the range finder would not work when mounted to the rifle. It worked when held in my hand.I ended up returning it.
