  • Great Headphones!!!
These headphones are great! I use them while I am working on loud equipment. I have used them mowing the lawn and while hiking. When its quiet they work great by themselves. When ambient sound starts to get high, they are drowned out. But inserting ear plugs brings the music right back. I can't use regular headphone because I have to turn the volume up way to high to drown out the ambient sound, but with these, I can wear my hearing protection and still hear the music. No ringing ears at the end of the day. I wear them when its quiet or even at my kids soccer game. Others can talk to me. I just keep the sound low just like a background radio. I wouldn't say the sound quality is great. But they are just fine for what they are. If someone is looking for audiophile quality in a noisy place, these aren't it. But they sound great and allow for total hearing, or hear protection. Using them for phone conversations is okay. The noise cancelling isn't fantastic. Other than that I am able to hear and be heard just fine. They work better than those little tiny things people use. The comfort is fantastic. After they have been on for a while, I forget they are there. I certainly don't have a problem wearing them all day. I haven't worn them long enough to run the battery to ground yet but for 3 or 4 hours they are completely comfortable. If you turn them up really loud, then they do vibrate your face. But the idea of these is you don't have to turn them up loud. It's like having a radio in the background everywhere you go playing your favorite music. People can talk to you. You can talk back. If the environment gets loud i just shove some ear plugs in and the music returns. Great for industrial, construction or anything else that requires you wear hearing protection. I used them while mowing the lawn and they worked beautifully as soon as I put in ear plugs. ... show more

  • Pretty great headphones for those afraid of deafness
Edit March 2023 The primary button only works with a forceful push, as if it's worn down. I've also figured something out with the volume control. At least on iPhone, the phone volume control and the headphone volume control are independent, so adjusting one doesn't affect the other, but both do control sound. You can imagine it like there's 2 sound bars and they're averaged together to get the volume you experience. This doesn't apply to my windows computer and I don't know about android. I got these headphones because earbuds were causing tinnitus and I don’t want to go deaf. After I found out these existed I got them immediately and was quite impressed. The sound quality is decent without earplugs and pretty good with earplugs, but this isn’t meant for high quality sound. Overall I’d highly recommend this and here’s a list of things to note that I’ve noticed -As battery lowers volume decreases -These take a bit to get used to and it feels weird against your skin for about a week -Depending on how much it’s used, a full battery should last a day -At low enough volumes you can listen to music or listen to the environment/other people (good/useful thing in my opinion) -When earplugs are put in the effective volume doubles and you’ll have to change the equalization so that it’s not too bassy (hold the plus and minus buttons while audio is playing to change EQ) -I use these while cycling and DO NOT PUT EARPLUGS IN WHILE CYCLING. The entire point of these for cycling is that you can hear the road and environment which can often be the difference between dying and not -Wearing these for too long - audio playing or not - strains the skin/bone where it’s placed. -As far as I’m concerned these are waterproof. I wouldn’t wear them in the shower, but these have survived significant sweat, dropping into the sink, and even a really hard rainstorm -Double and triple tap rarely work to skip or go back a track ... show more

  • Good headset for anyone who wears a size 7 hat or bigger
I love these headphones! I have a small head (hat size 6 7/8)and small ears. Normal “smallest” earbud are too big and hurt my ears This headset sits beside my ears and does not cause any pain. The Bluetooth is seemless, the sound is clear but does still let you carry on a conversation if you chose to do so. I have used the headset in phone conversations and have been clearly understood. My original concern was when I wear it to the gym, will I be listening to my music or the music played at the gym. The good news is when it is turned up, it drowns out the unwanted noises I am giving it a 4 out of 5 because I have a small head. It fits but is not tight on my head. It does not move when I am running but it is still easily dislodged. It does have a piece to adapt and tighten the headset but it sits far back enough on the headset that it does not touch my head. A strap would be a nice feature on any updates I do not suggest it for anyone who has any issues with vibrations. And be aware that people around you can hear it when it is turned up ... show more

  • Great Headphones, Just Be Careful
I use these all the time; at work, working out, while traveling, everywhere. These headphones are very much my favorite pair I have ever had. The sound quality is better than most earbuds, in my opinion. While they may not have incredible bass or deep immersive sound staging, that is not what they advertise. The sound is clear, the ability to listen to music and still hear all things around me is just awesome. If you work in high noise environments where you need earplugs (I work around heavy machinery often) these work well with earplugs in as well. If you are an audiophile and looking for the best sound possible, these obviously aren't for you. But if you would like an alternative pair with fairly good quality to use while doing other things, I highly recommend these. Unfortunately, they broke. I think it was 10 months after ordering them, I accidentally sat on them and the black framing broke completely through. The headphones still work, but without the pressured fit on the head that the flexible frame creates, they are pretty much useless. Even though these are advertised to have "durability and flexibility" do yourself a favor and buy the protection plans. I was too stubborn to pay 4 more dollars, and now I'm kicking myself, as I'm going to have to fork over another 100 for a new pair. EDIT: After a few phone emails with Aftershokz, they were nice enough to get my warranty registered after the headphones were broken, and got me a replacement within a week. Great customer service, great company. ... show more

  • Give them time and they will certainly grow on you!
So I bought these a few months ago and I have been waiting to throughly test them out before I wrote my review. After 3 months of use, I can easily say that these have been the best wireless headphones I've ever used. I was a bit concerned at first because when I first started wearing these, I noticed the skin above my ears was sore if that's the right word. Truthfully, I've never worn any over-the-ear headphones before, so I knew I would have to adjust. Since I've adjusted, I enjoy wearing these everywhere. Doing yard work, bike riding, general exercising, and running, I wear these on all occasions and I've just fallen in love with them. The "open ear" tech is what I love the most. I do a lot of running on the roads and walking my dogs on neighborhood streets and I couldn't stand not being able to hear cars coming or people stopping us to say hello. I barely have to turn down the sound to hear people talk. But let me mention the sound. It's like an 8 out of 10. When I first put them on and turn them up, it's like, "Can't these go any louder?" But after a few minutes listening to them, it just seems like they block out the whole world. It's a funny feeling that catches you by surprise. And when I'm at the gym and I'm on the bike watching some YouTube or maybe a show on Netflix, I put the earplugs in and I can't hear anything but what I'm watching. With the earplugs in, the sound becomes a 9.5 out of 10. I still can't believe after all this use that nothing is in my ears, other than the plugs of course. Finally, the battery lasts quite long. The day I got them, I wore them right out of the box and I'd say I got about 4-5 hours out of them. I few days later after a good charge, I was out doing yard work for at least 6 hours and they were playing the entire time. Ultimately, if you buys these and don't like them, give them some time to grow on you. They are light and barely noticeable during activities and sound great. I was skeptical when I first got them but now I love them. When I'm out on my runs on the trail, I don't even know they are there. I just hear what's pouring out of my phone. I've very happy I took a leap a faith and bought these and you will too! ... show more

  • This headset won't let you down!!!
I love these headphones. I use them all day every day at work. I work an 80 hour week and they do a good job, they can go almost an entire 12 hour day (I usually have to charge them around 6-8pm and I usually start using them around 9-10am). The sound is very nice, now audiophiles may throw a fit but I feel for your average person the sound quality is pretty good, and they are especially good for me because my hearing isn't always the best but I can always hear these well due to the bone conduction. Now there is definitely some audio bleed and others can hear them if you have them playing loud however if you have them at a medium or low volume your fine. The button on the side works well with my phone and the volume keys usually use the phone volume however some times they go into their own volume which is kinda of weird but I don't mind. They are also very durable, I am constantly working around chemicals and using a fog machine with disinfectant to disinfect spaces and as far as I can tell this doesn't effect it at all even after months of daily "fogging". The mic is ok, you can get through a phone call just fine so long as it's not too windy but don't expect to record anything, as the mic picks up background noise very easily so you might have trouble with phone calls in very noisy spaces. However the range is incredible since I will work in office buildings regularly and I have gone to the next floor having walked a good 20-30ft away and still had connection in the elevator only when I got down to the lower floor so I notice I left my phone upstairs. Usually by then it gets robotic but it will still hold the signal which I find incredible. That being said it really depends on the materials and things in the way as the range has been really good in some areas and just normal in others however I feel this still just a wonderful little headset. I originally was scared of the price but it's certainly worth the price as it will keep on trucking and running well ... show more

  • I can HEARRRR YOUUUUUU
If you're interested in noise-cancelling headphones- you're in the wrong place. The whole point of these, in my opinion, is that you can still hear the world around you, while keeping the sound going into your head relatively private (if it's loud enough, yes, other people can still hear it). If you want to be able to listen to music while going around a grocery store and (maybe) not look rude, these work great. I don't have an aux connector or bluetooth available in my car, so this is a great way to listen to my music or podcasts on the road while still being able to hear ambulances and the police officer who just pulled me over. Also, it's great for work- I can keep listening to music, but I can hear my co-workers without taking them off and putting them back on. Is the sound quality great? It's okay. It's good enough that I'm not bothered, but you'll definitely get better audio quality with ear buds. I was originally interested in these because the technology seemed cool to me. They still are cool, and it's fun to show them off. If you want the best audio quality, or to shut out the world, terrible choice. If you want to be able to still hear others, or wear them while driving safely- these work great. I've had them for a little over a year now, and they're still working great. Only bad thing happenings is the USB cover's not resting flat anymore (it's kind of got a bump in it), but other than that it's working as well as when I first got it. An important note for comfort: you can't wear these and lay back in a chair. The plastic ring goes behind your neck and is firm, so if you try to lie back it'll either be really uncomfortable or they'll move on your head. You have to have space behind your neck. If you want to use it while lying down, or lying back in a chair and resting your neck, this is not a good option. ... show more

  • Shokzed it wasn't as I'd hoped
I did a bit of research on bone conduction headphones and read many reviews. The AfterShokz got great marks on all the points/features that were important to me so I bought these to test and try. For reference, I listen to both music and podcasts everyday, with 5 hrs of that listening time dedicated to podcasts. I do much of this listening while engaged in chores, yardwork, and exercising - often with the streaming device using a bluetooth connection to the headphones 15-20 feet away from me. Here's a summary of what I personally discovered: PRO's: wonderful build quality, pleasing rubberized/siliconized headband with built in controls that are easy to locate when wearing, flexible headband for easy placement/wearing, excellent battery length (when new - don't know if that changes over time/use), clear sound with more than adequate volume available, attractive design, simple but easily accessible charging port CON's: the pressure placed near/on the cheekbone when wearing was uncomfortable after a short period of time and only corrected by precisely placing the 'speakers' in a certain place on the cheekbone and angling the headset just right due to its shape - however with time and any movement of the jaw (chewing, yawning, etc) this altered their placement and resulted in discomfort; although the bluetooth connection was quick and easy, I wasn't able to maintain a connection for any further distance than about 5 meters - and that was 'line of sight'; while the sound is clear and has adequate volume range, the frequency response is muddled much like that of an AM radio - no real crisp highs or defined bassy lows and everything is stronger in the midrange (you could probably create the same effect with a simple 3 channel EQ); moving the position of the headphone speakers just slightly results in sudden changes in volume which makes listening unpleasant if doing any movement of the jaw as referenced earlier While the technology definitely seems legitimate, valuable, helpful, and an intuitive alternative to in-the-ear speakers (earbuds) or on-the-ear or over-the-ear headphones, the particular design of these headphones and the resulting default placement/positioning makes them uncomfortable for me to wear for any real length of time. Add in the problem with an unusual bluetooth connection distance limitation and it's a deal breaker for me. As several of the reviews indicated, however, they are a wonderful choice and experience for many. ... show more
