  • Violet perked up
Size: 8 Dry Quarts
Appears to work great. I put my violet in it as soon as I received the soil. It perked it's little leaves right up and looks healthier than it has in quite some time. Thanks,

  • Good results
Size: 4 Dry Quarts
Last year I repotted all of my african violets with this soil. It didn't take too long for the plants to rebound and show vigorous growth. One bag did 6 pots with some left over. After more than a year the soil still has good drainage.

  • worth it!
Size: 4 Dry Quarts
In the span of less than a month, my baby African violet is nearly twice its size, making this worth every dollar thus far. I wasn't expecting the growth rate to be so extreme, but I'm celebrating it nonetheless. The soil is soil aka dirty. Nothing can be done about that. The weight is very light, which I wasn't expecting. It's also dry, which is what the plant needs. I use a proper six inch African violet pot, and have a lot of soil leftover for a larger pot. The size of the bag and the amount of soil is worth the money on its own. The plant growth is blowing my mind, and has me absolutely delighted. Well, except I need a larger pot and will have to transfer this before long. 100% functions like it should, and I could not be happier. ... show more

  • Good African violet soil, but….
Size: 4 Dry Quarts
I took one star off: There is not enough perlite in this mix and it needs to be amended for African violets so water is not held onto (which causes root rot). That’s a definite CON, but the only one! I’d say PRO wise, it’s a good soilless mix and it has the necessary ingredients for an African violet mix. I feel the peat is a good quality and looks rich. Most mixes have a ton of clumps in them along with some twigs. This mix is no exception, but it’s so much less than others, I do sift it through a sand sifter to remove the clumps, and there is not much. This is a very good inorganic african violet mix and it’s not priced exceptionally high like many others. This is my stand by mix for my AV plants. I’d recommend to other AV growers! 4/10/25….received my new order! Ordered the 8 qt.! ... show more

  • My plants love it
Size: 8 Dry Quarts
My violets love this soil. I had violets that weren’t flowering. Repotted in this soil and now they bloom nearly year round.

  • Saved My Violet!
Size: 4 Dry Quarts
The media could not be loaded. I impulsively bought an African violet from a big box store hoping I could keep it alive. I had never cared for one before, so I did some research on them, but kept it in the original soil. Unfortunately, after a few weeks the leaves began to wilt and the entire plant was floppy. I panicked, ordered this soil, but definitely thought it was too late. As soon as the soil came in, I repotted the violet. It had gotten some root rot so I cleaned the roots as well as I could, trimmed off the floppy leaves and hoped for the best. In no time at all, I had new growth, new flowers, and the plant had made a full recovery. The leaves I had trimmed off I propagated in the AV soil and now I have over thirty babies that are now growing their own blooms! This soil is absolutely amazing and I can’t say enough good things about it. It makes growing African violets easy for any level of plant parent. ... show more
