  • Half Full or Half Empty?
Size: 6-pod Style: Red Heirloom Cherry Tomato
As a seasoned AeroGarden gardener, I love to plant new indoor gardens on a regular basis. A few weeks ago, I planted my Heirloom Cherry Tomato garden. I am looking forward to adding fresh cherry tomatoes to my salads in the future. Three of the pods have sprouted (each star represents a plant), and the plants look healthy. The other three pods have yet to sprout. If they do, I will add stars (if possible) and update my review. **UPDATE** 10/24/24: I am updating my review (and adding stars) because the three pods that did sprout are now large, super healthy cherry tomato plants, as pictured. Had all six pods sprouted, the Aerogarden would have become overcrowded. I'm excited to see small yellow flowers on the plants, which indicate that cherry tomatoes are on the way. Those cherry tomatoes will be added to fresh salads. Sadly, Aerogarden has announced that they are closing (you can still order Aerogarden items from the company and on Amazon for a while longer). I will stock up on pods before it's too late. I really enjoy Aerogardening! **UPDATE** 12/31/24: "Resprouting Early Spring" Great news! AeroGarden announced recently that they will be back in the spring of 2025! Additionally, their products will be available on Amazon without interruption! :) ... show more

  • Awesome seed!
Size: 6-pod Style: Red Heirloom Cherry Tomato
I got six seed pod and used three. I started in fall and now it's almost Xmas, and I'm getting a second bloom of flowers and getting a second batch growing! These are really bushy plants, so DONT OCCUPY ALL THE POD SPACES in ur Aero garden, and remember to trim down to 1 plant per pod... It does take a while to grow and ripe. But if you wait for the perfectly vine ripe tomatoes it's better than candy! If your tomatoes are tasteless, chances are they need more time on the vine. The perfectly ripe tomato pops right off the vine. If u have to pull or cut it off the vine, u probably picked too early. I use an old electric toothbrush to pollinate my flowers since I keep it indoors. Don't plant weak plants with these tomatoes, it can't compete with these tomatoes... (Basil seems to be fine tho) ... show more

  • This is an amazing kit highly recommend
Size: 6-pod Style: Red Heirloom Cherry Tomato
I started the 6 pod and man they grow strong and fast. I bought some cherry tomatoes from Safeway and these taste way better. Its been about a month and there growing so fast. Way more tomato's then one person can eat. These are wonderful during the winter months when we can't grow outside. As you you can see from the pictures these are well worth it. I'd recommend using filtering water or half distilled and half tap water. I filter my own water so it's not an issue. Just make sure to give nutrients as needed. They are now drinking about 1 quart of water a day! I couldn't be happier. All six pods worked perfectly all sprouted within a week. Very nicely made. If you like cherry tomatoes this is the kit you want. They taste excellent. Just use good water and keep nutrients at proper levels at all times. Hope this helps someone. ... show more

  • Good, but Room For Improvement
Size: 6-pod Style: Red Heirloom Cherry Tomato
I've had an Aerogarden for almost a year and have done two rounds of herbs, took a break, and started on tomatoes. Herbs were alright, but it's frustrating how you eventually run out of space for the plants to grow under the light and ALSO even more frustrating (once I started tomatoes) to see how there's no support for the stalks and they fall over, snap, droop, and generally aren't stable. I liked the taste of the yield well enough--no bitterness, just fresh and organic as a tomato should taste. But I must say that I've had to completely scale off all the leaves and greenery just so the stems will stay upright. Now I just have a bunch of stringy stems with a few tiny tomatoes. I think these plants run their course after 3-4 months, so just keep that in mind. It looked promising for the first three months and then once things got out of hand, I think it was clearly a point of no return. I wish there were support stakes so that the herbs and tomato stems could grow without stress. (I had the same issue with the herbs when they grew tall enough). Long story short, harvest these and don't let your stuff grow beyond the largest height of the light extension. I have the Aerogarden 360 by the way, 6 pods. And having bought several rounds of these pods, I'd suggest always ordering NINE PODS even if your machine takes six. Why? Because not all the pods germinate and I don't want you to be as disappointed as I was waiting on some stalks to sprout that will never happen. Happy growing! :) ... show more

  • Happy with these! Started them indoors then planted outdoors. Going strong
Size: 6-pod Style: Red Heirloom Cherry Tomato
I've used 3 of the pods so far. All successful. I grew 2 in the aerogarden. Once the weather got nice, I pulled them out -- there's a lot of roots and probably broke off a few -- and planted them in a grow bag. Of course you could put them in the ground but I use the bags. They've been fruiting. Size of the matoes are even larger than the cherry tomato of plants that I'd purchased. I'm also growing another one in the aerogarden. This one fruited much faster than the first two. I'm not want you'd call a green thumb gardener and these were not hard to grow ... show more

  • Better options out there

Love my garden however, these took forever to grow and I only revived 3 tomatoes out off all these pods.

  • Grow pretty fast
Size: 6-pod Style: Red Heirloom Cherry Tomato
I was excited to start growing tomatoes after we'd grown the starter kit that came with the aero garden but unfortunately I was not ready for the speedy growth of tomatoe plants. The other plants we got took a while to sprout and these were already an inch high in less than 3 weeks. I tried to keep pruning them ever so often but it felt like everyday there were new branches starting to grow of the others. At the end of the day it was my fault for not properly caring for them and because I don't really know much about plants just thought it was fun to grow the last ones but for somebody who has done the research on how to care for them and can prune everyday, these worked amazing. The planst that grew had thick and sturdy stems and were very healthy. I tried to repot some of them so I'll see what happens afterward but my experience with everything in the aero garden has been great so far. ... show more
