The air drumsticks are pretty easy to get the hang of, and while it’s not exactly the same as hitting pads, it still feels satisfying. What really stands out is how portable it is. I can practice anywhere—at home, at a friend's place, or even while traveling. I just connect it via Bluetooth to my phone or tablet, and I’ve got everything I need right there. The 8 different tones are definitely a highlight, and honestly, the sound quality is pretty similar to my e-drum kit. It’s not the same as a full acoustic kit, but it’s close enough to make me feel like I’m playing a real drum set. And having that USB MIDI feature is perfect for recording or even mixing with other music software. The pedals give me that familiar feel of a traditional drum kit, especially the kick and hi-hat pedals, which I really appreciate. It’s not exactly the same as my e-kit setup, but for something so portable, it definitely hits the mark. The Air Drum is great, the feedback is very real, and it is very smooth to play. The Bluetooth connection is also very stable, and there is no problem pairing with mobile phones and tablets. It also supports USB MIDI, so I can directly connect it to the computer to record. It has quite comprehensive functions.

From others’ feedback, this is basically a well-marketed and packaged Chinese product—there are “clones” half the price, also on Amazon. I can confirm this from falling for the online advertising and using the product and the app (which is a secret!) From my own experience, I was convinced to buy this by Instagram ads. I finally saw someone using to play live music, and I was sold. The product worked well, but only in the way they wanted you to play it. The gyros in the sticks, once calibrated, have rigidly defined angles at which certain drums exist. For instance, using reference angles, 0 to 60 degrees is your floor tom, 60 to 120 are your rack toms, and 120 to 180 are your snare and hi hats. This configuration might sound reasonable but is virtually unplayable. There is no way to change this, not even in the dead and buried Aeroband app. Instead of providing customer control, the package includes an ugly poster to hang up on your wall to “train” you on where the drums are located. Great tech demo, good for kids maybe, but not for a musician or anyone who has real experience playing any drums.

Cool e-drum set. I have a 13 year old nephew who plays and I thought he’d enjoy this. It was delivered to him today, and he loved it a lot. He said he’ll love playing it on the bus rides

Got these for my middle school son who is very interested in playing drums. Set up was a breeze, the pedals and sticks connect via Bluetooth to the little receiver, the package even has some in ear monitors to wear so your drumming doesn’t bother the whole house. The sticks feel good in the hand, and the tracking on them better than expected. Definitely have to calibrate them so all the different drums are where they’re expected to be, but that’s easy with the included mapping guide. You can even output from the little receiver to external audio (I plugged it into my Sonos 5 and it sounded great). You can connect it with GarageBand and record too. Really fun piece of equipment!

Absolute rubbish. My son purchased with his own money directly from Aeroband. Calibration was a nightmare every time he tried to use them, and I even tried to go through the process and never one time was successful at avoiding misfiring. Then the customer service experience direct was a nightmare. They made him keep for an extra week to see of he gets the hang of it. He did not. Then to top it off - they are charging him to return them. This is the most awful customer service experience. I feel bad for my son but it is a valuable lesson. Don’t buy gimmicks. This is nothing more than a gimmick and cash grab.

I've been wanting to get back into drumming for awhile now. I drummed in highschool and college then life got in the way. My current living arrangements don't afford me the room to have a traditional set. I stumbled into some Internet videos of these air drumming systems. After doing some research I landed on this company. Bettween the realistic feel of the sticks and the options for headphones, Bluetooth and ease of recharging I made the purchase. I had so much fun over the weekend getting back into my glory days. Despite being slow and rusty it's been a blast. It doesn't replace a drum kit but definitely helps fill the void.
