  • Great value and perfect for camping/boating
Style: Kayak Only
We wanted an easily transportable boating option, but also wanted a quality watercraft, lightweight but good quality without breaking the bank. This kayak really fit the bill. I did not want to go to the expense of a roof rack system, and rigid kayak. I wasn’t sure my wife would enjoy boating like this; she had never been in a kayak. I went ahead and ordered two oars/pump. I would recommend those. The pump really gets it inflated quickly. Make sure you read the instructions about inflating, but it’s not complicated. I let it sit in our hallway for a week; no air loss. We took it camping a week later, and it was a big hit with my wife. I left it inflated for four days straight, with no air loss. We only did two boating trips due to high winds, but had a great time both times. My wife loves it the OEM oars are excellent and very high quality. You can break down one and make two paddles out of it; we tried that and really like it. We found that when boating in the wind, if you set your oars down crosswise on the boat perpendicular with paddles to the water, they act like a small sail surface which was really nice. We paddled put into the wind and “sailed” back to shore. It glides thought the water very easily. There are little Velcro straps for securing the oars which is really handy. The skeg works really well, but you have to pay attention to it when launching or getting it shallow water. The cover material is excellent, I really like the hiviz yellow. We really like the water bottle and small storage compartments in the seats. I did not try it solo, but believe it will work even better. I am about 35 pounds heavier than my wife, and she sat in front and I could not discern any undue pitch, which was a great surprise. The price for the boat, pump and oars was just under $500 and I feel that it was well worth that, or even more. Plus, the weight is low and it really collapses well, I even was able to fit the seats, two oars and pump in the bag and could easily carry it. On our last day after we went boating, I sun dried it, deflated it, unzipped the compartments, wiped down the interior and packed it. I took it home and two days later rolled it out to further dry it. It seemed dry already but gave it a day opened up. No issues. This will always go with us camping here in Texas. Highly, highly recommend it. Not sure what improvements it needs other than adding a sail attachment. ... show more

  • This is a great inflatable kayak!
Style: Kayak Only
This is a great kayak. This boats mostly seen rivers, lakes and some mild Rapids. I’ve taken this kayak on several single and two night kayak camping trips. I’ve definitely loaded this boat down to its capacity with camping gear. All in all the build quality is great, this boat is held up pretty well for the last year of use which has been several dozen times. Customer Service is even great too, I miss placed the fin and was able to replace it pretty inexpensively and quicklt. Set up and take down is super easy with a dual action pump with a PSI gauge. I highly recommend this kayak! ... show more

  • Do NOT overinflate. Otherwise, great starter kayak for family.
Style: Kayak Only
After a bunch of research I ended up buying two of these for use with my family on a big lake. I was worried about their durability and how they would hold.uo against scrapes and dings, and after about a dozen uses, it appears these boats are pretty durable under normal use condition. Pros: - very stable and comfortable - great for kids. I can fit myself, my wife, a two and a five year old and it does great. - not the straightest moving boat Cons: - despite never going above 1.9 psi, on the first hot day, one of the chambers expanded to the point that it split at the seams and is now irreparable. Since I bought two, I immediately reduced the inflation in the second kayak. Now I'm afraid to inflate anymore and so I'm dealing with a significant loss of performance out of a fear that the other kayak will also expand and break on another hot day. This is a total let down. Thanks to Amazon's 30-day refund policy I was able to return it. Aside from this, it feels durable, but I strongly do not recommend going anywhere near the suggested PSI for the two main Chambers. ... show more

  • Very stable and managable
Style: Kayak Only
I bought it on Amazon. I couldn't find reviews on Youtube.com but it was reviewed by few customers on Amazon. I am so happy that I bought it. We made few tests on lakes in Cook County IL where regulations demand inflatable boats and kayaks to have factory installed floor. This kayak has few separate chambers in floor and they are covered by durable material as protection of chambers. Kayak is very nice, extremely well constructed. ... show more

  • Best for the Money!
Style: Kayak Only
Best small kayak for the money. You would have to have two small people to run this as a tandem. But since the AIRE or other top brands have priced themselves out of anything but the high end river runner market...get these. My wife have run them from the beaches of Mexico (yes, they are just under 50 lbs) to where we live in Alaska. ... show more

  • Company doesn't honor warranty
Style: Kayak Only
I heard good things about Advance Element Kayaks from other users. I bought the Voyager to take with me on a trip to Alaska. The second time I blew up the kayak I found a small tear in the bladder next to the fill valve due to defective manufacturing. I patched it but there was another leak along the seam of the bladder. I called the company for a warranty replacement of the bladder. Advance Elements had been bought by Pelican Kayaks in Canada after my purchase. Pelican has pathetic customer service. You can't call a human, email only. They told me they would send a replacement. When i didn't receive the replacement I contacted the company. I received an email from the Customer Experience manager. The email said we don't have a replacement and we don't know when we will get any bladders in stock. The product quality is poor, the customer service is poor. I would recomment another provider. You don't want to deal with Pelican. ... show more

  • Improved from a few years ago.
Style: Kayak Only
This meets our needs of portability and low weight since we use mainly while we are camping in our RV. This is our 2nd one. They now have an over-pressure relief valve on each of the three chambers. Our older one did not have them, and after leaving it out in the hot Sun all day, the chambers swelled so much it ripped the cover at the seams. Even now, if you leave any inflatable out in the heat you should reduce the inflation pressure some. ... show more
