I bought this for my brother who is in the Governor's school. He Plays wind instruments but like to dabble with other ones. I was clueless on how to tune this and get it right. But he picked it up and was playing music after just a few adjustments. It is beautifully built and the bow is gorgeous. He said it easy to tune and is great for a play instrument. It was worth every penny.

Im new to learning violin and buying violin . The customer service rep , gave me free strings for life. They are very help-full!!. For newbies - buy a reamer for peg holes- get some peg drops- be prepared to cut and shape the bridge- moving the soundpost - is tricky - I did it with hemostats - there are tons of youtube videos-all the info on the web says take it to luthier slash Fiddle shop - my nearest is 80. Miles away and they charge 80.$ per function - like 80 to fit bridge 80. To move post. 80 to restring . So plan on violin repair as a hobby as well as learning to play. But this is not unique to this brand - for 80bucks they produce a great product at this price point. What nobody tells you is if you buy a 500.$ violin - you will have to go through the same process- less reaming the peg holes . So in reality it is as they say a starter instrument. And For 80.bucks it was a great learning experience.

This is the perfect violin for toddlers/young children! It is small enough in size for a small child to hold by themselves and is made from a sturdy enough material where durability is not a huge concern, plus it is beautiful to look at. It has all the materials for getting started-- including extra strings, extra bridge, resin, and tuner, as well as an instruction manual for you to follow if you are like me and never been exposed to the maintenance of this instrument before, which is bang-for-buck in my book, definitely worth the price. It took a minute to learn how to tune and is not always easy-- definitely a job for an adult, not a young child learning-- but the overall sound quality is good when the pitch is perfect. If the tuning wasn't so tricky to figure out (I had to watch a YouTube video), it'd be five stars all the way.

Does not come out of the box ready to play. Bridge would not stay in place, tuner is too cheap to work right, bow is not curved at all, even with rosin, the bow would not make a sound on the violin strings. I immediately repacked it and placed back in the shipping box it came in and asked to return it for a full refund. In my opinion, this is more of a kid's toy and not a learners violin. Don't waste your time or money on this item.

I got these because they were cheap and my kids were just starting out. The kids love them, their music teachers hate these violins. Unfortunately they don't stay in tune and they're really difficult to get into tune even. The final straw was when my youngest came home from school crying because she missed a huge chunk of her class because her teacher spent the entire time trying to get the violin in tune. Their teacher recommended that we go to a music store and rent them each a violin. We did that and I would highly recommend doing the same before buying these. These are violin shaped objects, not violins. I'm giving 3 stars though because the cases and all the accessories are really nice, and worth keeping as spares. I would buy the cases and accessories again if they were sold separately, definitely recommend those. Just not the violin itself unfortunately. In general, I hate leaving bad reviews, but my kid came home crying over the violin not working properly so I feel this review is justified.
