Shiny, and beautiful. It does have an odor to it but I think it is from the lacquer/varnish they used. It does not smell like the paint. I'm hoping it goes away. I will update. Strings are easier to see against the white. Pegs may need tightening before first use/tuning. I have been playing... well learning, for 7 months and do not want to rent one anymore.
