This looked like a great idea until I opened the box. First there are a bunch of pieces and nothing is labeled. Second the extremely tiny screws are impossible to attach the gadgets that are not labeled. The directions were not much help. I should have bought the regular sized tool. I returned it.

Where to start... We'll get one thing straight, right off the bat: This is NOT a commercial machine, nor is it made for 'heavy duty' use. There are MANY things that can be accomplished with this. If you are a crafty and enjoy making miniatures, small crafts, detailed work, etc., this is a machine with which you will have TONS of fun... The micro saw is suitable for cutting thin items. I would recommend not exceeding 1/2" material, and not expecting to 'rip' things like sheets of plywood, for obvious reasons. Despite its small footprint, it's surprisingly stable. If you're going to cut things of some length, I would also recommend some means of stabilizing your material. I have a small 'jack.' It's stainless steel, and can be set to any height, and has a flat, square surface. I use it for items that are too long to easily keep stable while also paying attention to the cut and hand position. It works beautifully. There is also a mountable chuck. This is an horizontal mount, and it's GREAT for a vertical-circular sander, grinder, horizontal drill bit, etc. This is FAR easier to stabilize than something like a drill mounted horizontally. Again, this would be for SMALL bits/fittings. It's not a production machine. Next is a flex shaft. Just like any flex shaft one would attach to a Dremel brand or similar, this will give you the freedom and flexibility to apply your bit with precision that would otherwise be difficult with a stationary mounted bit. This is the tool I use most often. Because it allows such detailed work and is so easy to handle (with a MULTITUDE of attachable tool heads), There is very little I can't do with it. For those into crafting and those that sell their creations/wares, this machine can EASILY pay for itself, and VERY quickly. Albeit a little on the pricey side, this is a concern for each individual to make a judgment call. I can't imagine being without one, now. For everything from model ship building to hand-engraving to cutting/shaping metal, this little workhorse has you covered. Most definitely a recommendable item.
