These are very clever pieces of exercise equipment. But, I think none of them take advantage of the opportunity to coin a mnemonic brand name such as Quikchange dumbbells. Many dumbbells are adjustable. If you have a bar with treads on each ends with space to insert multiple weights and locking devices to hold those weights in place. All of that adjusting takes time. That is time that is loss to exercising and maintaining a certain heart rate while going through one’s repetitions. This dumbbell consists of a plastic place holding tray, and a dumbbell with multiple weights on each end, and turning and twisting center dumbbell that has a ratcheting mechanism. By merely turning to the dumbbell shaft to a specific marked “weight” position, the required plates on each end of the dumbbell remain connected to the dumbbell handle and other excess plates are disconnected and remain in the plastic rack when the dumbbell is lifted up. To change from one chosen weight to another takes only a few seconds. This allows for quick changes, avoiding any unplanned slow down stretches that can interfere with achieving and maintaining a target heart rate. There is no need for any fiddling with locking mechanisms and changing plates. Picking up one dumbbell of a certain weight then exchanging it for another of another weight also can be done in seconds, however that means paying for an entire set of dumbbells. This can be costly and then there is the additional space needed for dumbbells of many specific weights. This is a really nice solution, when space is limited, on your RV, when traveling to your summer home, or when you want all your funds for exercise equipment to be spent just on basic dumbbells. These are a pleasure to use. The grip is cover and has a slight curve giving it a comfortable grip. The plate are quiet and sit neatly in the plastic tray when no used. In the series of pictures, I show the indicated weight selection, and then the plates that remain in the tray in order to achieve the indicated weight.

Very convenient, easy to use, and space efficient. The weight selection is just a twist of the handle. For such a wide weight selection, this thing takes up very little space. This is the main reason to buy these types of weights. -Seems mostly well made. The weights themselves are encased in some type of hard plastic. The adjustment mechanism feels sturdy and the clicks feel nice and sturdy (see cons). -Weight is in even numbers. 5,10,15,20, and 25. This is important because all other weights typically weigh in this format. The idea is you grab a dumbbell of equal weight (see cons). -Weight is mostly accurate. I weighed this dumbbell with an accurate scale, and here is their actual weights in LBS: 5 = 3.6 10 = 9.2 15 = 14.6 20 = 19.8 25 = 25.6 Cons: -Only comes with 1 dumbbell. I have two hands, I need a minimum a pair of dumbbells. -The handle is plastic so there isn't much grip. The solution is to buy some 'grip tape'. The grip tape I have is different than normal tape in that there is no sticky goo. It sticks to things and sticks to itself very well. This is somehow actually way better than duck tape (no goo too). Grip tape also provides great grip than duck tape. Trust me, grip tape is something you want (see pic). -If you don't pick the weight up straight or if you don't pick it up in the middle, the plastic platform will come with it which is annoying (see other thoughts). -Possible platform fixes: 1. Mount it to the ground. This would be the best. 2. Mount it to something thats attached to the ground or has weight. Good solution. 3. Double sided sticky tape mount it to the ground. Decent solution. Where the weights sit, you can use two pieces of double sided sticky tape. 3. Add weight to the platform. On the bottom of this platform, there is a bunch of decent sized squares (for structural strength). You could make take some sand, and a BUNCH of epoxy and glue the sand in place. I don't really like the idea of this solution. Other Thoughts: -Despite the way my review looks, I love these weights! -The platform problem I have gotten used to it and its not really that big of a problem.

Always wanted these and finally I got some. These weights are so versatile and saves so much space if you’re doing home workouts. I’m not a heavy lifter, so 25ish max is perfect for me. They feel like they will last for years to come and I hope they do because this was the best addition I’ve ever made to my home workouts.

I bought it for my high school kid and for myself. It came in a nice and sturdy package and was delivered with no issues. The dumbbell and base plate came together. The dumbbell can be weight adjusted just by turning the handle to desired weight. when adjusted to 10 or 15lbs the remaining weights out of 25lbs will stay in the base plate. The dumbbell looks solid and fits perfectly in my hands. It has good safety measures as the weight can be adjusted only on the base plate. It is compact and helps in space saving as it can be stored in one part of the room and can be used when needed. The grip is good on the dumbbell and helps in holding it safely. Over all I am pleased with the dumbbell and helps with exercises. 5 star product for its design.

This is my first adjustable dumbbell and I'm pretty happy with it. Changing weights is a breeze and the rack holds the weights well when you aren't using all 25 lbs. These are great for saving space or even for having a spare set to compliment another set so that multiple people can work out. My only complaint about these is that the weight isn't evenly distributed on the dumb bell. It feels like the weight is off-center a bit, which would make sense since the handle needs to drop into the weight plates. It's not a big deal, but it is noticeably different from a standard dumbbell. Overall, this is a good dumbbell and I could recommend this to anyone that needs to conserve space but have a good selection of weights for their exercise routine.
