It was a big thing back then. Then, all of a sudden, all these hotels started putting them in. Had to have one. The first available was from "Bed Bath and Beyond," but of course they're gone now. And now ... we have Amazon. Gotta love it! These are fantastic, though. I had to get a ceramic bit for my drill, because I have a tiled shower. No big deal -- you'll love this once you've got it up.     • Very Sturdy with Better Screws
I was skeptical that this rod would be sturdy enough to hang anything other than a shower curtain. When installing, I did position the supports so the screws were attached to studs, and I used longer screws. I was also very careful to align the screws so the rod was level. The instructions say not to do it, but I have not had problems hanging clothes on the rod, and it feels very sturdy. ... show more

    • Works great, even when adapting to a straight bar!
My wife and I just moved into a new home and we were thinking our basement's guest bathroom should have a curved shower curtain rod, just like nice hotel rooms have now. Installation went well and everything is well made. However, once we had it up we didn't like how much the curve caused the shower curtain to invade your space if sitting on the toilet next to the tub. I took a chance and purchased a straight bar from Amazon and hoped it would fit the connectors that I had installed into the sheetrock. Thankfully, the design of this item allows for the movement of the arms that hold the bar and the new straight bar slipped nicely inside the holders as they rotated into the straight position. Great design of the hardware! The straight bar is much better for our situation but this unit's adaptability really saved the day! ... show more

    • Screws are inadequate
If you plan to mount this to drywall, you'll need to go out and buy some sturdier mounting hardware. I do like the rod, however, because it definitely gives you more elbow room in the shower.
