I've been putting off getting a bucket hat for a while now. I shave my head and my skin is on the fairer side, so sun protection is a priority. I've gone on many walks with the how and it is high quality and comfortable. I would say it breathes fairly well. On occasion it feels a bit hot when wearing it, but I tend to run hot anyway. If I throw the hat backwards between my shoulder blades, I don't feel the cord squeezing my neck too tightly. I even forgot I was wearing it once. One thing that is a little strange is that the sound waves bounce from the brim into my ears creating a bit of an echo, like cupping your hands next to your ears, but not quite that extreme. Since I tend to burn easily, this was a skin saver while on vacation. It's not the most trendy looking thing for a dad that's trying to keep his youthfulness, but it saved my ears and face from being burnt when in the pool. I got it wet and it dried quickly. Great hat!!

The brim of this hat is too wide for a small head, so I feel a tad geeky when I wear it. But it's well ventilated and light, so you have an easier time forgetting it's on your head. I might have a tailor cut the brim down a bit someday, but it was a good purchase.
