  • Hidden in the description are the Pi's that it's compatible with
Only compatible with a few specific raspberry Pi models. Had to spend a couple hundred more to make it work. I guess I should have read the fine print.

  • Disappointed that I have to give a low rate
Sadly I am going to give this a 1.5 to 2 stars. Personal think it's great but has a ton of small issues. Issues 1 the code does not work out of the box. I'm highly technical and it was annoying I had to edit the code. Issue 2 my panels broke way to easy. I didn't even have it running and I broke 4 pieces even the thick ones. Lucky I have 3D printers, but that's not the point. It's a little weird they designed the tank so compact, there is little room for the wires have fun!!! Some of parts labeled on the pdf were wrong and non matching. The big issue is, the code doesn't work... Secondly the plastic breaks to easy I had the tank tip over just to the left no drop or all and a wheel holder broke. My 2 cents 3D print something like it but a little bigger and more space. If everything worked 100% I would at least gave a 4/5 Debating returning or fixing it..... ... show more

  • The claw will not open and close with the program
I like the assembly process and it makes a great gift. I am not sure why the claw will not grab, I can open the claw by hand and it will close. I used the program that came with it.

  • Good quality parts, but you should know about robotics to make this work
I wanted a good movable mobile platform to experiment with various robotics ideas with python and AI. This treaded platform / tank is good for that purpose. The quality of the parts are good -- sometimes non metal body is easier to assemble. The precision of the parts are good. The tread works well. Note that the motors and servos are just basic ones, so not a lot of precisions in movement. As a experimental platform I like this but this is definitely not for a beginner or a young child. ... show more

  • Good Eduction Kit
I saw that my friend had this robot kit. He spent some time assembling it with his kids. Especially the steps about programming were fun! Great educational kit for kids, recommended!

  • Involved
This Adeept RaspTank Smart Robot Car Kit for Raspberry Pi 4 3 Model B+ B, OpenCV Target Tracking is a very high-level kit that I would recommend for experienced makers due to the complexity involved with constructing this. Just a reminder to anyone reading this, this kit requires a Raspberry Pi, but it DOES NOT come with one, which should be expected since these kits rarely come with one. Currently Raspberry Pi's are an extremely hot commodity and are sold out everywhere I've checked, I have a few around the house but they're all being used for different things already and I don't want to remove one of those for the sake of this kit. So, I'm stuck waiting on a Raspberry Pi order to be fulfilled which will hopefully be by the end of the year. Since I can't assemble this kit without the Pi, I just took it out and looked at the various parts and components. There are a lot of exceedingly small parts here so I would suggest organizing them in a container, so they don't get lost. Some of the pieces don't feel quality to me but I'll just have to wait and see. Overall, I'm unsure about how I feel in regard to this kit because I don't have a spare Pi to use to assemble this kit and so must wait for one to arrive hopefully by the end of the year. The kit is incredibly involved judging by the online instruction manual, and many of the parts are tiny and easy to lose if you aren't on top of organizing them. 4/5 stars. ... show more

  • It is a very nice educational toy.
Hello there, It took me a while to write this review. Mainly because it does take time to build it and then actually explore all you can play with it. This may sound like a bad thing, but it is not. I don't love how the arm articulations were designed, but everything else makes this a pretty cool educational toy. Please make no mistake; you will have to devote some time to it, but time invested in learning is always of great use. The instructions are easy to follow, and at the end, you will be using Python under Linux on the Raspberry Pi, so everything you learn here, you can apply to many other uses. Overall, I like this Rasptank quite a lot. I hope this helps. ... show more

  • Not Easy
All the parts are here. That's the good part. It's very important to note that this, like most of the Raspberry Pi world, is made for hobbyists. This isn't a plug and play thing where most of the work has been done for you. The joy is in the journey, and in this case the journey is indeed not for the faint hearted. Instructions are sparse and the amateur may feel a bit lost at times working things out. In other words, this isn't like LEGO. And it's this part that bears mention. While all the parts are here, some parts are better than others. What I'm trying to say is that OCD-types may blanch a bit at the fairly loose tolerances of some of the components. This isn't to say that it's a BAD thing, because the parts that I considered sub-par were easily found elsewhere. And that's maybe a rather positive thing...since it encouraged me to dig deep into this engineering and, well, figure it out. I figure operation is directly tied to the attention to detail one pays when assembling this thing. In a nutshell, it works and works well, assuming you do your part. Again, it's not the easiest thing in the world to get together and working, but once it's finished...it's really quite rewarding. It's a good product, though again I'd call it great if all the parts were of consistent quality. Still, it wasn't a waste of time to get working and I really rather enjoyed the effort. ... show more
