I bought this to replace the ES-GO mag pickup in my girlfriend's Taylor GS-Mini because the sound was horrible, had no volume/tone control and, being passive, it required the gain to be set at max on our mixer board during gigs. First off, you really have to like the tone of a magnetic pickup in an acoustic guitar to "get along" with this Double XO (or any) acoustic mag pickup. Personally, I don't like the sound of mag pickups in acoustic guitars. They have that hollow, magnetic tone that is not anything like the natural acoustic tone of the instrument....especially when playing higher up the neck. The addition of the blendable condenser mic helps add some "airyness" but can make it more susceptible to feedback if too much is dialed in. I can say this Double XO pickup is head over heels better than the Taylor Es-Go (which is designed specifically for the GS-Mini). The fact that you can adjust volume and tone for both the mag and mic is a great feature. Add in the rechargeable battery, which has an incredible capacity (100 hrs they state?) and ease of installation, then I dare say that you won't find a better bang for the buck pickup. I also bought the Schatten HFN passive system for her guitar, in case that mag tone starts to grind on me. The Schattens are pretty low output, usually requiring an outboard preamp, but sound amazing (I've installed it on 2 other guitars). We're trying to keep her setup easy-easy, so we'll try the Double XO for a couple of open mics before doing any gigs. Will update after playing a few venues with the XO pickup.

The media could not be loaded. I am very pleasantly surprised. This pickup sounds much better than I'd expected, and didn't require any mods to my HD28. Wireless to boot, although it comes with a wired adapter if needed that can either be permanently installed in the strap peg hole (after drilling it to fit) or with a small wire hanging out the soundhole to a 1/4" female TS socket if you want it to be temporary. I've used it a couple times with the Church raise team and it sounded terrific. I'd say on par with a Taylor with built-in ES2 sound system. This ones EQ isn't as convenient to use while playing though, requiring a small philips-head screwdriver to make adjustments. The farthest apart the transmitter/receiver have been is about 60 feet, and there were not problems. I made a recording of a mediocre guitar player (me) trying to demo any differences between acoustic/unamplified vs wired/wireless with magneticPickup / Magnetic+internal mic etc. I hear no noticeable delay. Certainly no more than you'd have between a guitar and mic a couple feet away. I didn't attempt to adjust the EQ. If I'd been running through a mixer I'd clean it up around 130Hz. The onboard bass EQ might be able to handle that as well? I thought I had an issue with the tx/rx not talking the other day, but It turned out that they just needed to be repaired (as in "paired again"). I must have hit the tiny pair button by mistake while powering it on. The power led on the pickup is a bit bright, but a touch of tape over that will solve the problem if it gets on my nerves too much. Worth every penny in my opinion.

Been meaning to amplify my Big Baby Taylor for the longest but was always afraid of the process damaging the guitar. Originally wanted to go with the k&k mini but would still be pricey since professional install will cost me over a $100, totaling the upgrade to be over 200 bucks, just something that's not within my budget. Came across this simple solution and decided I'll settle with the wires running on the outside long as I can amplify the guitar. Originally bought the black one but came across this wooden design and knew I just had to have it, visualizing how it would look on the natural wood of the Taylor. Long story short, I bought it and put the black DoubleXO on my black Sigma that has broken electronics. These really sound awesome and brings out the true sound of the guitar. Almost satisfied but curiosity was always in the back of my head, running and seeing the the wires outside the guitar body really bothered me and has become unacceptable. I searched and watched countless tutorial videos online on how to drill into acoustic guitars and how to install pickups. Still afraid, I braved it and finally decided to drill. Had to do a little modification to ensure the endpin jacks sat properly with no wiggle. I'm sure glad to have taken the leap, even more happier with how they came out. As said, they sound awesome, especially when combined with the mic. There's YouTube videos comparing this system to the Fishman pickups, most testify these are better, I can't really compare and comment since I don't own any other humbucker pickups but I'm overall happy with these, ok, that's a bit of an understatement, I'm ecstatic! Lol! There's separate volume for the pickup and mic, customizable settings for bass and treble as well as setting for the mic tone. The biggest plus is that they're rechargeable via USB, description claims over a 100 hours on a single charge, have yet to verify that claim. Not sure of it's durability but if all good, this is definitely definitely definitely worth buying. Will update if any issue comes up, right now I feel blessed as these are one of the best purchases I ever made. A+ Thanks βΊοΈπ

Well done! Affordable and easy to use! No need to drill holes or damage any guitar! I have it in a Big Baby Taylor right now. It also fit perfectly in a Martin with no damage. Just slide it in and adjust the screws to a good snug fit! Good product and I am very happy with this purchase!
