This bed does look good and the drawers are useful. That said, I don't recommend it. 1. It is definitely a two person assembly, and many books are in hidden locations. None of the bolt locations are reinforced and will eventually pull through. I'll be buying washers and re-assembling. 2. It is TALL! The bottom of the mattress is 23" off the ground. At 5'10", I have to hop into bed, and our mattress is only 8" thick. We could not use our box spring. 3. The mattress brace is weak. There are five 1x3 cross bars made of cheap plywood, a leg in the middle, one screw and each side, with 1/4" thick particle board on top. I weigh 170lbs and this bed creaks and groans all night, I genuinely feared falling through. I put a sheet of 1/2" particle board on top, but I can still feel it sag and it still makes noise. I will re-engineer this, it is unacceptable as is. ... show more

So far I love this bed! Its huge and absolutely beautiful. The instructions arent too bad but the actual building can be a pain. A 2mm difference in the side lengths made me have to take the entire thing apart and rebuild it, so I believe indicators of which way each piece fits exactly or at least labels on each piece would help. Otherwise it only took a few hours. I assumed the drawers on either side would be two separate ones but theyre actually one giant one with the illusion of being two, giving a lot of space for storage but not necessarily organization. ... show more

The bed arrived fast in 4 big, heavy boxes. A large portion of the bed is particle board but I had expected that for the $500 I paid. All the black finishes came without any scratches or dents. An inside wood piece (drawer support) did come completely broken, however, which has been a bit of a pain. I had to contact ACME who sent out a new part, but sent the wrong size. Ended up waiting several weeks before finally getting the correct, unbroken part. Besides the broken part, the bed was fairly straightforward to put together. One of the drawer pulls wasn't long enough for the drawer so my husband had to countersink it, which is annoying. The bed isn't super sturdy but we are hoping when we put in the new part inside the bed (we have been using it without the drawers while we waited the 2 weeks) that it might be more sturdy. All in all, for the money I think we made a good purchase and my son really LOVES the bed! ... show more

Edit: After 2 weeks, this bed is LOUD! Lol my 130lbs doesn't make much noise, but when my 200lb husband gets in bed it creaks so bad! Lol I think it's more funny than anything, but my husband is going to add extra support to try and stop it. Besides a little hiccup with shipping, which is understandable, I like everything about this product. None of my pieces were damaged, an any warping was minimal. It creaks a bit right off the bat, but we can fix that. All hardware was present. The drawers don't sit perfectly, but you can't tell. A full wooden bed of this size would cost thousands, I think it's a great value. ... show more

This product is exceptional. I read the reviews first so I was expecting this to be a high bed. I almost need a stool to climb in but it’s great for a small room with little storage space. It’s very easy to assemble. The instructions in a couple of places weren’t clear but the pictures that were included made them easy to follow. The bed itself was fast to assemble, unpacking all the pieces took up most of the time! This is just perfect for what I needed it for. My dog loves it too!! ... show more

I was able to put it together quickly with one minor glitch. I used two of the cross braces for back braces but realized it before writing the company to chew them out. I'd say it's a guy thing not reading the instructions thoroughly but I have to say that the illustrations could be improved as well. Looks good and is tall so mattress thickness should be s consideration of her a stool. ... show more

The bed came yesterday but had several pieces that were broken. I called Acme and they asked for pictures of the broken pieces and where I purchased the item. They said it could take up to a week to receive the new components or they could make me ship the whole thing back and get a refund. So now we have a bigger delay in getting my daughter's bed set up since it took forever to ship (3 weeks after purchase date). Just be aware that broken pieces seem to be common with this and do not expect to have the bed ready same or next day. It does appear to be sturdy and is a nice looking bed. Update -- requested new pieces a week ago and no word from the company. We are having to call and track them down. Dresser came with damage but not quite as bad and were just a few paint chips. ... show more
