  • It works
Color: Black
Pros: The rack is simple to assemble, all the parts are clearly labeled, parts fit well together, and has decent instructions. Cons: The finish is pretty low quality and will fade in just a couple weeks outdoors. The bump- in clearance is not deep enough for kids bikes. The axle threads hit the rack before the tire can settle into the cradle. Overall it's a great value for the price. ... show more

  • RACK THEM UP, LET'S BREAK!
Being the organizer and leader of a large social bicycle club here in Fort Lauderdale with over 1500 members the safety and well being of our members is always priority one. It is discussed before every slow roll. The same goes for our beloved mounts. Immediately following is our love of customization and personalization. Our local bike repair shop could tell you of the small fortune they make from our patronage. We spend tons on toys and accessories that just make the rides more fun, more enjoyable, more convenient. We are all about the slow roll and our pace is usually a crawl. On a members first slow roll I like to gift away a small safety item, usually a safety whistle. In some cases the gifting goes to another level. Sometimes it's a lock kit, or a lighting kit, seats, grips, baskets, the list just goes on and on. But here is something I need for myself. I just happen to be the proud father of five bikes. Yes, you read correctly-5 bikes in my stall. My main ride is a Specialized Hardrock mountain bike. Next in line will be my Litespeed Tuscany road rocket-that bike just can't go slow. Also have a Trek Navigator, and a Eurobike both neighborhood cruisers and last but certainly not least is my vintage Gary Fisher mountain bike. From when Gary still owned and operated the company. So this five bike rack is serving me very well. It seems overwhelming at first but believe me when I say it gets easier as you go along. Separating and organizing the pieces first really helps. There is an optional part for narrowing the rack opening to facilitate the storage of road tire bikes during the assembly, but it is not necessary if you don't want to use them. I would suggest that if you do not plan on taking it apart at any time after assembly you use some duct take on all of the joints to decrease some inherent wonkiness after it's finished. It is very lightweight and can be carried easily. I also plan on using this rack outdoors on the front deck. If you have less than five bikes you can complete assembly with only as many slots that you need to. So I will screw the feet supplied into the deck floor before attaching the rack to keep it safe and sound while outside. Got a second rack for indoors as well. This way I can use it before and after each slow roll for temporary outdoor portage. This also gives it a bit of theft resistance. I figure if it's screwed down there is less chance of it walking off. Nothing is 100% though, right? And one more thing, the advert say rack with lock. The lock is actually a very small cable lock useful for only one bike at a time. Will let you know about the long term wear and tear in the near future in an update. And as always remember: Ride Safe, Ride Strong, Ride Happy!! ... show more

  • Hard to fit more than 3 bikes, but otherwise good
The distance between the tire slots is a little too close together for 5 bicycles. I'm able to get 2 bikes and 3 scooters or 3 bikes and 2 scooters. You can see in my photo that I left the middle open and the two bicycle handlebars (one of which is a child's bicycle) are still overlapping. We left it that way just so there was an open area to pull any of our bikes/scooters out. Otherwise, it is well built and holds the bicycles up well. For scooters, I find you have to lift the scooter up so the front wheel goes past the top of the tire slot. Building is somewhat flexible in that you can make it whatever size you want and can include whatever tire slots you want as well (doesn't have to be 5). There wasn't much thought into designing it to be assembly friendly, though. Every piece has to go a very certain way in a very certain spot. it is set up so you can put things on backward and it will still assemble - it just won't work well afterward. For example, the two poles that hold the last tire slot aren't the same. The holes are in different places relative to the locking mechanisms. They could have just put the holes directly in the center so it wouldn't matter, but they didn't. As a result, if you don't put the correct pole in the back and in the front, the holes for the tire slot won't line up and the tire slot will be tweaked at a weird angle. There are many other examples of how things will only work one way and it isn't intuitively obvious which way until after you've assembled it wrong. In the end, we had to go back and fix things 3 or 4 times. ... show more

  • Nice 5 bike rack.
This is a really nice bike rack. It says it takes nine minutes to put it together and even though the instructions were high-quality from a booklet standpoint, it took me a few minutes to figure it out but once I did, it went pretty smooth afterwards. It took about 25 minutes for me but I definitely could’ve done it quicker. I know my picture show only 4 but it’s definitely a 5 rack holder. Only needed 4 since it’s sort of module, which was nice. You can easily within 10 seconds make it three or five if the pieces are put together. You will have to rotate the bikes, so that one bike goes in forward and the next bike because of the handlebars goes backwards. Not a big deal but I just thought I would tell you. I’m waiting on my electric bike which has 3 inch tires and it feels like they’re going to fit but it may be a little snug. I feel pretty confident that 4 inch tires won’t work. I’ll try to come back if the 3 inch tires don’t fit and update the post. Luckily I didn’t need all five because one of the bars didn’t have the internal threads to hold the bolts but they had an index card that if I had a problem to reach out but I didn’t since I didn’t need it so I’m still gonna give them five stars. Just got my new e-bike with 3” tire and it fits ... show more

  • Good for garage or patio
I like that it helps keep bikes upright and from scratching each other. The plastic feet will also protect your floor and keep the metal off the ground, preventing rust spots.

  • Works
Rack is a bit tricky to assemble due to it twisting a bit, so you have to adjust as you go would be easier with an extra pair of hands. Made of hollow steel tubing it slides together fairly easy then locks like crutches do. Once together it looks somewhat crooked but works and does what it's supposed to. It's light enough to move around and place where needed and sturdy enough to hold multiple bikes. Has a nice black coating on it should help it hold up to the elements outside. Works well for my needs. ... show more
