Not only is this umbrella really cute, it's also the first umbrella I've ever owned that isn't out for my blood. There's a little lever to release tension so you can collapse the umbrella, instead of a piece of metal sticking out of the side of the rod. It's much easier to use and I don't worry so much about injury with it. It collapses small enough to fit into my purse, which is a big plus, and the elastic wrist catch allows me to hang it upside down to dry if I need to. That said, it's only really big enough for one person. One short person. When it's raining heavily outside, I still get soaked below the knees using this. If you only need it for light showers, it shouldn't be a problem, but if you live in an area with really heavy rainfall, you might want to invest in something with a larger canopy. ... show more

    • It’s ok ...nothing to write home about
It’s the perfect size to keep in my small tote handbag. The image seems a bit more some shaped than the umbrella is in reality. I’ve only used it once and it served its purpose just fine.

    • Very Cute Umbrella!
This umbrella is so cute! I love the scalloped edges. It is as other people say, difficult to fold it up. It folds backwards compared to the way most umbrella fold. The ribs end up pointing up on the outside of the fabric. So it's really hard to slide the cover over it. It's not too difficult to simply collapse it and wrap the velco tie around it and just forget about the sleeve altogether. I was using this for a costume and it worked out well. When I wasn't using it, I collapsed it and put it in my purse. ... show more

A little lightweight, but you get what you pay for I guess. If you just need an umbrella to keep in the car, or your purse for use on a seldom basis it's fine. Definitely doesn't seem suitable for a heavy down pour.

    • Insufficient sun protection
Pros: Seller sent it on time, arrived in good condition, adorable design Cons: Hard to open/close, doesn't block enough sunlight I'm returning this because I purchased it for sun protection but it doesn't cut out enough sunlight. While it does cast a slight shadow, I think a design where the underside is blacked out would provide better protection. I'm really not a fan of the design, it's tough to open and close and the few times I tried, I had to really help it along or manually flip one of the sides that didn't completely open. Forget about struggling with it on a breezy day. With a normal umbrella you can at least turn into the wind and the breeze would actually help it close faster. With this design the umbrella catches the wind in every direction making simple functions a fight. The design is also the reason I had such a hard time getting it back into the carrying case.
