Carefully inspected this part upon arrival and determined it was Identical to the part already on my 1962 Corvette. Installed easily, correct color, and correct height to fit under the ignition shield (unlike some other aftermarket parts). Used a multi meter and tested the primary and secondary resistance. Coil arrived in the traditional AC Delco box with Detroit Michigan labeling on it. Took the coil out and it is made in China. Seems to work OK but disappointed that I paid more for an AC part when I could have bought a much cheaper non-AC brand coil also made in China-probably in the same factory.     • Real ACDelco coil at a good price
I don't know how to tell a great coil from one that just "does the job" without cutting it open - and I am not cutting a new coil open just to have a peek. So, I am relying on two things when I give this coil a 5 star review. First off, for the same price as my local parts store wants for a no-name coil, I bought a real ACDelco coil and ACDelco has a good reputation. Secondly, I bought one of those no-name coils (because I needed one in a hurry) and weighted the two and the ACDelco was 1/4 pound heavier. Does that matter? I'm not sure but it is a clue that this coil might be better built. ... show more

    • Best coil for the money so far
Bought to replace old coil in a 66 GTO. Came in perfect condition. Installed it and so far it works fine. Will see how long it holds up. You may need to adjust the bend diameter on factory coil bracket as these coils are slightly larger diameter than the original.

These non resistor coils are what you use in a gas engine boat that run for ever and not burn up points. Must use a external ceramic resistor,

I had a problem with hard starting of a big block Chevy engine when hot. I found the issue to be the MSD Blaster 2 coil. Once I switched to the AC Delco coil, I immediately noticed better idle, smoother throttle response and improved driveability not to mention no more hot starting issues.
