I bought this carbide turning tool set back in Jan. 2021 and they have greatly improved my lathe turnings surface. I didn't post a review at the time, don't remember things like that. But now for the reason for this review is: I accidentally caught one of the carbide tool bits into a piece I was turning and snapped the screw that holds the insert to the cutters shank. I was able to get the broken screw out but when I looked for a replacement screw, I was not able to find any. I searched my orders on Amazon for the original order to see if there was any screws for sale to fit the cutter. On reading about the set it states that extra screws came with the set. I'm sure they was not included in my set, as I would have stored them with extra inserts. I contacted Accusize through Amazon and got a reply the next day. They are sending me a set of screws via the mail. Great Customer Service.. I will buy Accuzise again when needed.

I'm a newbe so I watched a lot of videos before I started. the only thing i found wrong was the recommendation not to buy an indexable set like this and to buy the solid low cost turning tools. WRONG!!! i wasted time and money doing so. the solid turning tools didn't cut crap, but when i use these, i actually can cut easily!!! It's night and day and i feel like i know what i'm doing now. i've turned some items and i'm very pleased. Spend the little extra and buy this set, you will not regret it!

This is a wonderful set of cutters. There seems to be some type of rust preventive on all of them that should be cleaned off completely. If used w/o cleaning, the heat from cutting metal will seize the little screw that holds the carbide insert in the holder. This makes it all but impossible to to remove it for replacement of the insert. After that is done, you can't find a better set of tools than these.

All appear to be well made, but the cutting edge inserts are very small. I did some threading today and the threading insert is not suited to much beyond 3/8" round stock or bolt. Well packaged, a variety of tools and angles. I like these but will reserve them for small work.

Only flaw I've found so far is that the boring bar is not designed well for holes less than 3/4" diameter, might have to grind the holder a bit to allow it to not rub on smaller radius bores.

I have an old Harbor Freight combination mill/manual lathe with a 14.5" swing. Additional tool holders are reasonably priced so you can have one for each bit and have them perfectly aligned. Everything is machined very well and bits are precisely ground. I used the simple steel ruler for alignment and it worked great. I did some facing on some small diameter brass rods. I will also be using these on aluminum and steel. The kit includes a threading bit and I don't need that I suggest including a boring bar for us manual lathe owners (more useful in my case). I highly recommend this product and seller!
