I have another smaller set of Accusize turning tools for a smaller lathe in my shop, so when I had the opportunity to pick these up for my larger lathe, I jumped at the chance. Accusize gear has always performed really well for me, and these are no exception to that rule. The kit comes in a pretty decent aluminum storage case (which is a nice add, because these arms are not exactly light), and it has everything you’d need, such as insert screws and wrenches. I would have liked to have seen some additional carbide inserts included (I believe I got 2 extras in the kit for my smaller lathe), but I totally understand. These beasts are rock-solid during operation, as well - no chatter, no drifting, no movement at all. It’s just the right tool for the job. My son is very happy with this set and uses it often. He says it's really very high quality and extremely well-made for the price. It is for large lathe tooling and intended for external threading, grooving, parting, cut-off, facing, boring, etc. Each piece has a smooth finish and is marked with tool holder style and shank size. Each one comes with a C6 TiN Coated carbide insert with positive rake cutting angle and built-in chip breaker great for general purpose cutting action. There are Insert screws and a wrench included. You get 9 pcs of indexable turning tool holder, 9 pcs of TiN Coated C6 carbide insert and 9 pcs of hex screw in addition to a hex key, Aluminum fitting case and a handy guide that includes cutting parameters for Low-carbon steel, Medium-carbon steel, Alloy steel, and tool grade steel.
