We had our garage painted and I wanted to hid an electrical panel that I didn’t want painted. I couldn’t use any access panel which required recessing. This was perfect! At first I was disappointed that it isn’t a white color, but as you can see it actually blends well with the pale gray paint. The turn knob isn’t easy to use and the pins that act as hinges may seem flimsy, but as we rarely need to use the panel beneath this should not present a problem. This easily screwed to the drywall with provided screws. I used four and plan to get some self anchoring ones just to ensure it's sturdy for the other four. I chose this over other options for great price, and it didn't have a lip that required an exact cutout on the sheet rock. This opens up in an awkward corner beside a movable shelf and fully opena for access to the connectors. ... show more

I’m not that impressed with the access door seems to be very flimsy and the latch to lock. It seems like it’s very hard to use. I might have to add an external knob to make it easy assessable

So, our hose bibs apparently didn't have shutoff valves installed, so when the pipes burst from using the front porch hose, water flowed *inside* the wall, through both hall closets into the hallway. After one very expensive shutoff installation later - I installed the access hatches that the installer suggested -since unscrewing the drywall in the closet twice a year (to turn on and off) didn't sound like a good idea. The hatch installation was perfect - just 10 drywall screws; and it took paint nicely! This works; and looks good!! I bought another, smaller access hatch for the other wall cutout, for the hose bib on the other side of the house, painting it to match the wall on that side of the house. ... show more
