    • Hopefully this review helps my fellow gearheads out there.
There are not many reviews on this product here so here are my honest thoughts. Initially I was going to do a retrofit for HIDs on my original headlight housing (VW Jetta 2011 Base). VW makes it a pain in the a$$ to separate the headlight lens from the housing. That said, I ended up replacing the headlight that I cut into with this product, since I decided to stick to halogen lights (OEM). At first glance these headlights looked incredibly well made and were almost identical to the original. Here is the bad. I wanted to change the running daylights to LEDS. Removing the socket was easy enough... However putting them back will cause your inner soul to curse the heavens as well as say many select 4 letter words. I must've spun these damn things for nearly 2 hours until they finally screwed in. They do not line up at all in a seamless way. you have to almost force it in (almost break it) to get it to seat flush. The problem is the low beam reflectice housing doesn't allow for one of the socket's tabs to go into the hole. So you must use some force and cut yourself in the process, blood was shed in this project. The other issue I found is with the screw holes on top of the housing (this product). One screwed in fine without a problem. The other hole on the other hand... I DID NOT use excessive force at all or over tighten but the metal piece that holds the screw in place, FREAKIN' CAME OFF. After more 4 letter word expletives, I ended up using a longer screw coupled with some large washers and some rubber I cut into circle (for waterproofing). I then drilled the longer screw into the plastic of the housing in order for this to install "properly" if you can call it that. If I can do it again... I wouldn't, and just set the damn car on fire. A refund would be great but I'm sure that won't happen. Hopefully this review helps my fellow gearheads out there. -Al ... show more

The biggest job was dismantling the bumper. The light looks great. Works fine. Had to use a connector from the old light.
