    • Great Product!
Really nice quality heat mat. Works exactly as it should. Never had to go higher than the lowest setting. Perfect size for the standard propagation tray and dome. Good value for the quality.

    • Good
This is quite nice I never knew what to expect from something like this but if u have seeds u are trying to germinate and u dont have the proper temperature this helps to ensure that the seeds are getting proper heat for better chance of germination

    • Works well germinated my peppers this year instead of the blank I got last year
This is a basic heating mat but it does have a control that allows you to pick a general range of heating. It's not thermostatically controlled, that's a more expensive item if a thermostat is built in or if you're by a separate thermostat to control the mat. It has a control that allows setting it to a certain range but there's no thermostatic control that is measuring to see what temperature you're actually getting and giving feedback to raise or lower the temp. But it did the trick for me. Based on the reviews from other people I put it on a piece of cardboard which helps keep the heat going in the right direction. I used a thermometer to test the temperature of my soil after it was on for a few hours, adjusting the dial upward and downward to get the temperature I was looking for. These heat mats don't have a specific temperature as much as they have a differential above the ambient temperature in the room. So this heat mat is unlikely to start peppers in a cold greenhouse. But in my house it worked great and the price was right. ... show more

    • Works great
I was surprised by how good the quality of this mat is. The adjustable temperature really works, I tested the temperatures before trying the seeds on it. Low is barely warm, high is a little too warm even for my chilly basement, and I found that about 1/3 past medium turned out perfect. Almost all of my bell pepper seeds came up. I just ordered another of these so I can start the rest of my seeds at once. I am completely new at starting plants from seeds but this makes it easy. I highly recommend this mat! ... show more

    • Also keeps baby ducks warm.
Came with a nice-quality booklet on growing weed. Not my interest, but nicely done. AC Infinity has a lot of quality in their workmanship and packaging. This is a seedling mat, there's not a lot to say, but: It has a nice bag for storage, which is a nice touch. It has a high/medium/low knob that is *smoothly* adjustable (not just three positions). It kept my baby ducks from dying of cold, without using a ton of power, so there's that. Note: for keeping critters warm, use a thick layer of insulation/bedding (hay, sawdust, or similar) underneath the mat, but only a thin comfort layer on top of the mat, so the heat gets through. Even a small amount of consistent heating can get very hot if well-insulated on both sides, so monitor temperatures well, and don't put enough bedding on top that it acts as an insulator. Also, always make sure your critters have unheated space available, so they can cool off. ... show more

    • works well but can get hot
start on low and use a thermometer! bought for seed starting in peat pellets. first day, made the mistake of using the high setting on the mat plus the grow light, after a few hours I measured the peat at 100 degrees which is too hot. room was only 65 degrees. i turned the mat down to lowest setting that night, in the morning the peat was about 70-80 which is a good temp. with the light on again and the mat at low setting, after a few hours it was up to 90 degrees which is still a bit too hot. so now I am using the mat only when the light is off and at low setting. definitely glad I got this mat with the temperature control. ... show more

    • Heat controller terrible, otherwise fine mat
I use this underneath a 1020 tray/dome for seedlings. I find the heat controller to be unpredictable and/or too high output at lowest setting. Otherwise it works and is similar to the rest of the 10 x 20 germination mats out there. After two weeks of using this at I still never know what the temperature inside the dome will be in the morning, whether I set it at low, medium, or high at night. Last night I set it to almost Off, as low as it could go. This morning the dome temp was 75 F (ambient temp 65). If I'd set it to High it would've been 80-85 deg, so there is some predictability I guess. It's possible that this mat just has a minimum output equal to 10 degrees (in my environment), which is just too much for my seedlings overnight. I have a different brand heat mat without a dial that I have set up with a digital thermostat controller + temp probe, and it is very capable of the temperature range I need. I plan to try the SUNCORE mat with the digital thermostat, which hopefully can override the dial control. If it does, then I will just buy another digital thermostat. If it does not work then I haven't decided if I'll return the mat or just use it for different seedlings and buy a 3rd heat mat. UPDATE: This mat worked great with my digital thermostat- the dial control did not interfere. ... show more
