    • Great chain lock with user-friendly features
I've been using Kryptonite Keeper chain locks for years and wanted to try another chain lock from a different brand. The ABUS Ionus stands out with its sleek design and ergonomic features. Like the Kryptonite Keeper, I wear this chain around my waist like a belt (size 28-29 waist) while riding and it fits just as well. The best things about it have to do with the locking mechanism. Both ends of the chain that fit into the lock swivel so the chain cannot be twisted or become tangled. The key fits into the lock on the first try without any twisting back and forth a few times to get it to open like I have to do with the Kryptonite Keeper. The sleeve also securely attaches to the lock, unlike the Keeper whose sleeve can break over time and reveal the chain inside to potentially scratch your bike. It is on the expensive end of bike locks, but I get the sense that it is a higher quality brand than others. Wish it was made in Germany like the brand itself, but the lock is made in China like almost all bike parts and accessories nowadays. ... show more
