I live in Central Texas and needed winter protection for my outdoor tropicals during the occasional hard freezes we get. In the past, I’ve had to continually lug 30+ outdoor potted plants into and out of the garage all season, and wanted a greenhouse to use late Fall through early Spring so I wouldn’t have to keep doing that! I like the pop up idea so that during the warm months, I can easily take down the greenhouse and store it. Setup was relatively easy. I sell products at local farmers markets, so im very familiar with using a pop up style tent and with how to properly stabilize and weigh down tents like this. I DO NOT RECOMMEND USING THE TIES AND STAKES THAT COME WITH IT! Invest in a set of actual heavy duty tent weights to attach to each leg. In this case, I chose the water-fill type weights, since I can empty and fold/store the weights come Spring/Summer when I put away the greenhouse for the season. Using these heavy weights, this pop up greenhouse easily withstood multiple 30-40mph wind storms! Last week, we had our first major hard freeze that saw continuous sub freezing temps for 72hrs, and several more sub-freezing nights. All of my plants in the greenhouse are tropicals with a minimum threshold of 50 degrees. I used tape to seal up the edges of the windows and laid 2x4’s down over the excess plastic cover material at ground level to prevent cold air getting in/warm air leaking out. I ran a small space heater (2 small space heaters on the coldest nights - when it dropped to about 14 degrees F outside) and hoped for the best! I used a Thermpro wireless digital temperature monitor/transmitter to monitor the interior temperature of the greenhouse from inside the house, and I’m thrilled to say inside the greenhouse it averaged temperatures in the mid 60’s-70’s during the day, and the lowest it got during overnight lows was 50! My tropical plants are doing great! The greenhouse plastic cover, sealed up properly, did a great job of holding in the heat. I’m so glad I finally have a simple solution to winter protection for my plants!

I used this over the summer to make my garden grow better and to keep rodents out. As you can see it’s close in size to the barn behind it, it fits over my raised garden with walking room around it. The frame is very sturdy and the entrance is very large. It did take 2 of us to set it up so keep that in mind. Really enjoying it.

Despite mild California winters, our potted tropical plants (plumeria, hybiscus) need winter protection and they are too big to get through doors. This, placed on our patio for the winter, is the perfect fix.

This was very difficult to put up/together. The directions were 4 photos....The cover does not match up with the frame/velcrow ties. However, I got it together, it's not pretty but it should take care of my needs to winter my plants.

UPDATE All anchors attached and one decent wind completely trashed the greenhouse. TRASHED! The ‘steel’ frame was bent as if it had been through a hurricane. Had to completely take it apart, screw by screw to get it into the trash because of how bad it was. Warranty won’t cover natural elements. Look into a cattle panel hoop house and use a tarp or a 40% sun shade instead. The ABCCANOPY Pop Up Greenhouse is super easy to put together. I’ve owned and used several other pop-up tents with the same structure and this one is by far the easiest to put together. Honestly, I didn’t read the directions so it may say to do it this way but I have learned over the years that the easiest way to ‘dress’ the frame is to not open the frame fully, drape the plastic sheet over and match up at the corners, then pull the rest of the way to fully open the pop-up. This prevents you from trying to get the plastic high enough, over the top, etc. I used this to cover my water well in the winter. If it gets too cold I run an extension cord to it with a heat lamp for baby chicks. I move some of my plants inside as well for extra warmth. If the ground is too hard to drive the spikes into, try using hay bales to tie the cord to so that the pop-up doesn’t fly off. It also adds just a little layer of insulation at the base. This works for keeping a water well from freezing up or plants from freezing.

The tent is easy to assemble. I follow the instruction and it's easy to read and follow up. I spend about 20min to finish it with my husband. I have some succulent they like bright but not too sunny so I put them in seem all of them not burn and like to sit in there. The windy doesn't seem to do anything effect it Shaped. So it's sturdy until now.
