I just received the item and the top part of the car has scratches all over it and it doesn't play music. The battery door doesn't fit in the slot properly. This toy isn't new.

The car was designed to have a charger built-in so that the car could be pluged in to recharge or it could have replaceable batteries. The car that was delivered had a riged up single rechargeable battery that was not designed to fit in the battery compartment. It also lacks the hardware for disposable batteries. What you are given is a rechargeable battery with very little life that requires an adult to use a screw driver to open the battery compartment, unhook the conector the recharge the battery, then reassemble after charging. Bought 2 of theses for the kids to play with together. For the price they seem sturdy , move well, easy enough to use remotes. My problem is with charging the cars. The instructions on the box show a charging port next to the on/off button and there is an indention there that looks like a cover for a port- however it cannot be opened and there is no charging port there. I emailed the company to see if I was missing some secret to open it. They emailed me back and told me that that the battery cover must be removed, the battery taken out , charged and put back in the car. I figured this out myself. I checked the "questions" section while I was waiting on an answer from the company and saw that someone said the cars seem rigged to look like you can charge them from a charging port and I must agree. It's just a pain to have to remove the battery every time you charge them and would have liked to known this ahead of time. False advertising to put a feature on the box that doesn't exist. ... show more

I order this for my nephew, he opened it last night and they sent the wrong battery so the toy is useless as you cannot use regular AAs in the toy itself, just the remote. Poor kid had a total meltdown as he was the only kid who didn’t have a present at our family dinner.

Opened the box to discover, I would have to hunt down a lot of rechargeable batteries not stated on the website. The slots batteries were inadequate to install the batteries. The "charging port on the diagram on the box did not exist on the car. IT is a mess.
