So our original Apple remote stopped being able to control volume when I had CEC on to automatically turn on and off the tv with the Apple Remote. I literally tried everything as well as contacted Apple but they were clueless. It was either control volume with the Apple Remote but not be able to turn off the tv or be able to turn the tv off and not be able to control volume. I just refused to have to use two remotes to control the tv!! I had melt downs trying to fix this and as a last ditch effort said what the hell and ordered this remote. I even have a sceptre tv which isn’t listed as compatible but bought it anyway and emailed their customer service to see how to program. I received an answer the same day and what do you know the remote works perfectly and took less than 1 minute to program. Buy this remote!!

Worked instantly on my Apple TV HD A1625. No programming needed. To connect to my tv, it was just a 5 second hold on two buttons, then boom, connected. Couldn’t be simpler than that.

Bought this for our AppleTV 4K. My husband and I use this one for the bedroom tv, where we often fall asleep with the tv on and the remote falls off to the side. It’s how we ended up stepping on the original and cracked the glass. So with this one broken, in our quest to be circles with eyelashes (as Ali Wong so gracefully put it) we used the app remote for a bit, but we both agreed it was utter garbage. It is the opposite of relaxing when using the remote app. In the quest for proper blobbage we decided to spend less in the case that we step on it again. As expected, it’s cheap-o plastic. It feels like a toy, is rather light and hollow, but it works. We don’t use the Siri option, so that’s not missed. I personally find how the button at the top flashes when you press other buttons a tad annoying, but you pay for what you get. Doesn’t bother my husband though, he blobs using this without any concern. I believe it’s supposed to work with other Apple TVs, but being that we’re a pair of extra sprouted spuds when we use this tv, we haven’t tested it in the living room. The living room is for being semi-people so we haven’t ventured that far with it. Until we lose the other original remote, I guess it’s Shroedinger’s cat. Worked with the Apple TV out of the box (batteries not included, takes two AAA, you’re not spending $60+ so adjust expectations accordingly!) then we synced it to our TV for power and volume control. Lists a lot of tv brands it can sync to - didn’t realize it would be a universal remote also. Nice. Sweet added bonus! We don’t even have to get up to look for the tv remote now! Thanks to this product, potatoes will continue to potate.

I was really excited about a replacement remote for my AppleTV that could also control my Sanyo television. The remote doesn’t come with the 2 AAA batteries required. That wasn’t a dealbreaker. The remote easily paired with both devices, however it was super glitchy and would not stay on selections long enough to play the apps I wanted to watch.

Down 2 starts because definitely is not glowing case as described. I don’t like the ivory, looks cheap. Also no batteries (I knew that because description but forgot). Apple TV HD recognized it immediately (is not a Bluetooth remote like original Siri, no voice command and no touch surface for scrolling). TV also was recognized immediately. Is really basic and easy to configure. Looks like is a great idea to have a silicon protector or something like that. Doesn’t feel like it will survive a fall.
