I bought this set of ignition coils for a 2015 VW Passat 1.8 liter engine car with just under 200K miles on it. Yes, the coils are made in China. It is my grandson's car. The local Volkswagen dealer wants $115 per coil or $460 per set of four. An online VW parts dealer sells them for $74 a piece or $296 a set. The parts desk at the local dealer said that some people have trouble with non-VW aftermarket Chinese coil sets. It seemed worthwhile to pay $84.99 for this set and see if they performed well over their expected life. I ordered this ignition coil set Thursday evening; it arrived on Sunday and did the job on Monday. The coils are shipped in a well-padded box which in turn is sealed in plastic. The set comes without dielectric grease for installation, so I applied some onto the bottom or spark plug end of the rubber boot and also applied some to the top of the boot where it seals the opening in the head. We had a difficult time removing the old sparkplug boots, so the grease may hopefully help if it doesn't break down at operating temperature. I recommend this set of ignition coils for the listed Volkswagen models. Installation was easy. The coils appear to be well-made and the car fired right up after the job was completed. I ran a code reader evaluation and found the ignition system to be working properly.
