I removed the transmission in my 99 Silverado to have it rebuilt. (It only took me about 17 hours, on my back in my driveway. Why I decided to do it myself is beyond me!) "While I was in there" I decided to address the several leaks...one of them being the rear main seal. I bought this kit and installed it. I also installed a new dogbone, a new oil cooler bypass gasket, and a new oil pan gasket. I finally got my transmission back from the guy who rebuilt it, and had to recruit a friend to help me get the transmission back in place. So after spending another 15 hours installing the transmission, transfer case, drivelines, electrical connections, exhaust, and filling everything with fluid, I started it up and went for a test drive; about 10 minutes around the neighborhood. I parked back in my driveway and looked underneath: oil is POURING out from the bottom of the bellhousing. Grrr!!! So I had to remove my transmission AGAIN to see if this kit was leaking. I was out of time and had to hire somebody to help me; to the tune of $450. Sure enough...the circular seal was leaking. We replaced it with an OEM GM kit, put it all back together (another 15 hours on my back), and now: no leaks. Bottom line: don't trust this kit. :-( I'm returning it for a refund, but of course I threw away the box weeks ago, but they'd better refund me anyway. ... show more

This product was economically perfect. I installed it on my personal vehicle in about 5 minutes after clean up. Would purchase again if needed. Update: it started leaking again. Sucks now I have to pull out trans and transfer case AGAIN.

Installed, it did fine for about 5 minutes then oil went to pouring out. Now I gotta pay for labor again, this ain’t even right.
