I replaced my OEM tensioner with this and it somehow seemed to fail and snap the mounting bolt off in the engine block??? I have no idea why this would've occurred , maybe it was something else on my vehicle but this is the part where it broke. Also, the metal is pretty soft so DO NOT USE A 12-point WRENCH ON THE TENSIONER TO MOVE IT!!!! Go rent the serpentine belt tool from autozone and make sure you have a 19MM 6POINT socket .

The media could not be loaded. It only lasted 11 months and it broke in the middle better buy one of a little more money and avoid headaches. I am trying to contact the seller to see if the 1-year warranty on the product honors me. When the seller answers me, I will tell you how reliable they are and if they solved me.

The metal used was easily stripped, I finished installing the tensioner and tried putting the serpentine belt on but it stripped. And yes I did use a 19mm wrench. Ended up swapping the pulley and using the old bracket. The only good part to come from this was the pulley. Furthermore, the tensioner had alot of slack on it, easily moved by forcing it with your hand.

I installed said tensioner and started the car. Much to my surprise, the thing was moving! Not rotating, but actually "pumping" as the car ran. I removed it and measured the TIR (Total Indicated Run-out) of the wheel and it was .004". The old unit was ~ half that. So the off-center effect of the wheel was forcing the tensioner to oscillate to compensate. To make things worse, it looked like oil was escaping the hydraulic thingy (technical word). The problem with the "pumping" is that it creates a needless fatigue effect possibly reducing the life of it and other components. Waste of my time...
