I got a quote on a gutter install and decided I would skip the install of a gutter guard and install a Gutter brush myself. (Of course, I'm sure I'm in the majority who gets an upsell to do the roof after the salesman checks things out.) I researched a little and I came a cross these Amazon Recommended A-M Gutter Guards, which were $100 cheaper than the Gutter Brush, and, more importantly, were designed to eliminate the need for annual cleaning for most people. I knew it was going to be a little more work having to screw them in, but the long term rewards would make it worth it. I really don't like going up on a ladder, and my yard is uneven making it all that more difficult. Plus, I'm getting up there in age at 67, so I want to go up there as little as possible. My original plan was to install these while on the roof, but it was really hard to see what was going on in that position. The first section I tried would not go in place. So, I moved the ladder under the gutter, and the problem was that the roofers forgot to screw in one of the gutter mounts. I could not see that from above. So, at that point, I decided to do the whole job from the ladder. Everything, for the most part, went well. I went left to right, front of the house to the back. The final few feet of my gutter were a little tight for some reason, so I had to cut down the width of the gutter guard to get it to fit in place. The aluminum is easy to work with and I was able to cut it to size with tin snips. It was getting a little hot out and I was pretty exhausted, so I'm thinking I might give it another go at another time. I have plenty of spare panels that I can work with, AAMOF, I think they give you a few extra panels, which is nice. I ordered these on Saturday, the day after my roof and gutters were installed, and Amazon delivered them to me on Sunday, with the screws I ordered, when both of these items were expected to be delivered the next Friday. Very nice of them! Since I do not have prime. So, I was able to start work at 8:30 AM on Monday, Labor Day and I was done at about 11:30 AM. I was prepared to use the A-M Gutter Guard Screws and magnetic Driver just to use the recommended product. But, apparently they are out of stock since it would have shipped a week later than the gutter guards. So, I followed some of the recommendations here in these reviews and ordered them as well. Overall, I highly recommend these gutter guards. They are strong enough for whatever Mother Nature may throw at them and flexible enough to be reworked for the areas that might not be exactly as expected. And, they are cheaper than Gutter Brushes, which have to be cleaned out annually (at a minimum). At my age, I'm hoping I can avoid ever having to go up on a ladder again. ... show more

I use a few different gutter covers, but none have work as well as these. The problem is...if the holes are too large stuff(pine needles, small leaves, etc.) will get through. If the holes are too small the gutter guard will clog quickly. I have a ranch house(flat roof) with lots of tree around it. I installed these gutter covers a little over 2 years ago. And I have not cleaned them off since installing them. Normally I would have to clean the gutter out 2-3 times a year. And even then I would get overflowing gutters. My gutters never overflowed with these covers. As you could see from the before and after pictures my gutters were close to being clogged, but never did completely. FYI - I use a leave blower to clean the gutter covers. ... show more

Opened the first of two full cartons (400') of Gutter Guard. They looked as if they had come from Pakistan via freighter. First one out of the box was top slightly skewed on one corner but straightened easily with plyers. Now for the surprise. While balancing on a ladder I attempted to bring the front lip of the piece into contact with the top of the gutter lip. Nada on each end and in the middle. WHAT??? I removed the guard unit and retreated from my ladder. to examinie its profile. BINGO. Ascending again, I identified the root of the problem....actually, it seems the problem with most gutter guards. They are designed to be multi-dimensional...so that debris such as leaves does not stick to a flat s;urface. Good right!!! Yes, but in doing this many of them recess too deeply into the gutter trough.....and GUTTER GUARD's design is no exception...it recesses ...quickly and deeply...enough so that it will not work on many spike and ferril gutter attachment systems. The recessed design heaves the guard upwards at every ferril joint...heaving it up from the gutter lip and making proper installation impossible. Do not use any guttter syustem until you buy one piecet lo see if it willl act;ually install. ... show more

I Purchase these gutters because I had called Leaf Gutters to come to work at my house and finding out the price of gutters were $5000. I just told them just put the gutters up for 3000 and I’ll find the leaf guards from Amazon I purchasing these got them from Amazon 5 inch perfect fit I couldn’t be more happier. I cut the cost down $2000 I found that Leaf Gutters were too expensive when you can do it yourself I just know that these companies out there brothers that just do gutters and all those other gutter companies are way too high in their prices. It’s a simple job and you can do it yourself these leaf guards that I bought from Amazon were a perfect fit, and it made the job even easier ... show more

I've had two sets of Toppers on my gutters and neither one of them worked for various reasons. These toppers fit great are very easy to install and they also capture the rain beautifully. I love the design they're built to fit perfectly and they go up very quickly and easily. I would recommend these to anyone. I liked the product, but when trying the samples on my gutter installation, the bolts that hold the gutter and join pieces of the metal are a hindrance for this type of gutter guard. The only way to use them would be to remove the original screw/bolt holding gutters together and reinstall, making a new hole in the gutter guard to match the location where the bolt is already in place. So, I went with the Amerimax lock-in (wire) gutter guards, where I could leave the already in place bolts holding gutter system together in place and install the guards. ... show more
