  • Great little generator
Style: 4000-Watt + Dual Fuel + Electric Start
Ok, I bought this unit not expecting H@nda quality but at less then 1/2 the cost it's a great deal. Reviews seemed to be hit or miss. I got the dual fule model and love it. I have only run it on propane and that solves the issues with generators and old gas. I will have to say, I followed the directions for a propane startup and at first could not get it to run. Just by chance I reversed the instructions and it fired up first try. I bought a generator mount from Amazon for the front A-frame of my camper and now my generator rides high and dry, out of the way and it stays there except for winter storage. (SEE REVIEW). So far so good. It's reasonably quiet and I love the pushbutton start as well as the remote start. I used velcro to mount one remote next to the monitor pannel in my camper so it's almost like having a built in one. So far I have only about 10 hours on it which is not even one propane tank full of LP gas. Like the idea of having gasoline as a backup. Setup was easy and straight forward. Can run my A/C unit and all the lights, pump and water heater. Other than the initial frustration with bad instructions on how to start the unit in propane.. I am very pleased. Lots of bells and whistles for the money. Oh, one additional thing.. I added a plug in battery tender to the unit so that when it is stored, the battery does not go dead. Otherwise they recommend you run it monthly to keep the battery charged. ... show more

  • Trying the Invertor Again (2nd time)
Style: 4000-Watt + Gas + Remote Start
Love the power and features of this invertor, but started having issues within 2 weeks of purchase and now returning it. The remote start and power are both awesome, however, it will no longer start by the battery and when trying to pull start it, feels like the engine is almost seized and almost impossible to pull it. Once you do apply the 100 or so pounds of pressure needed to pull start it, it runs fine and produces power. Very weird and no idea what is happening, but disappointed to have an issue within only 2 weeks. It is relatively heavy....the UPS Store is going to love me bringing in in for them to ship back to Amazon. ***Update*** After further research, there is a "compression release" mechanism to allow the engine to be started w/o full compression. That mechanism mush have gone bad and explains the the issue. Regardless, it was faulty and I returned the unit. ***Update 2*** I am updating my rating from a 1 star to 3 star. I purchased a standard "construction site generator" and it works well, but wow is it loud. After reading other reviews and really liking the features/power of this unit, I bought another and keeping my fingers crossed no issues with this one with the compression and starting. Got it today. Added 10/30 full synthetic and fresh gas. Ran it for 5 hrs without a load to break it in. So far, so good. I really do love the features (especially the remote start). So we'll see. It will starting getting some serious use this w-end and should have a good idea of how its going to hold up this time. ... show more

  • Good for an RV. Powers AC and Microwave. Defective DC outputs.
Style: 4000-Watt + Gas + Remote Start
Pros: I can connect my RV main power line using the 30amp outlet and RV adapter. If I turn on the fan first and turn off everything else, I can get enough power to start up the compressor on my standard size RV air conditioning unit. Once running (on low), I can use other appliances. If the AC is turned off, I can also power my 1000w microwave. It comes with some nice add-ons which you don't typically find with a generator. It comes with a meter to track hours of use. It also has electric start which can be operated by remote control. Bluetooth would've been nice instead of a clunky remote, but having a wait to shut off the generator at night from inside a camper is really convenient. Cons: Arrived in seemingly used condition. Didn't come with the owners manual, no oil, no parallel cables, and is a little louder than other inverter generators. Main breaker switch isn't a tight toggle. As a result, it can flip back off. I haven't found an easy way to change the oil without making a mess. These are good quality engines, but they require frequent oil changes until you fully break them in. [As a side note, make sure you get a magnetic oil cap to catch any metal particles in the oil.] DC outputs are defective. USB and cigarette lighter adapter do not work. Possibly a defective breaker. Getting this generator to work has been frustrating. To be fair, this was a brand new model. Hopefully, any defects are resolved with future shipments. Overall, I'm giving this 3 stars because the AC output is sufficient to fully power an RV and because Amazon accepted my return. For the price, I'd consider buying this again. ... show more

  • So Far So Good
Style: 4000-Watt + Dual Fuel + Electric Start
I didn't see too many reviews for this model (SUA4000iED) but I purchased it based on mostly positive reviews of other products from this company. My first impression is positive. The unit is compact and relatively light. The instructions were clear and it started up after the third try on propane with remote start. It had no problem powering my Salem Hemisphere 5th Wheel and running one of the two 15,000 BTU A/C units. While running the A/C unit it was carrying approximately 1.6-1.8 KW running on propane. Starting load for the A/C unit was 2.3 KW. I was expecting it to be quieter based on research but it is still much quieter than my Craftsman 5600 W generator. Overall I am happy with the purchase. Time will tell with regard to reliability and durability. ... show more

  • Quiet!! Long lasting
Style: 4000-Watt + Dual Fuel + Electric Start
And wow i specifically bought to run propane and wow 1.2 kw ran for 11 hrs on a propane tank!! The only sucky thing about this is that the battery that comes with it sucks. It died by 2nd use and could start with push button and it seemed very difficult to pull start on propane.

  • Customer Service
Style: 4000-Watt + Dual Fuel + Electric Start
I bought this generator, followed start-up directions to a T. I used it twice, now the battery is dead. I have emailed and called several times and no response back from the A-iPower. I gave 2 stars because of the customer servers.
