I read some of the comments and wasn’t sure should I buy this, but it turned out as a very good product! The seller shipped the generator very fast. The package is in great shape when it arrived and the generator is light weight. I added the engine oil that came with the package into the generator then add fuel. Turned the two button to on mode as instructed in the quick start guide, then I pulled the string and the generator starts working already. Very smooth and easy to get it started and begin to use. I then plugged a fan and a light and they worked perfectly. Noise level is acceptable and not very loud. Easy to load to the car for a camping trip. It is also a great electricity backup at home. Works great, but ... There's no hour meter for keeping track of hours used for oil changes, and the power switch stopped working within 2 weeks, it wouldn't turn off, but I was able to choke it to shut it off. There is no drain plug for doing oil changes, you have to tip it, potentially spilling gas, to drain the oil from the fill hole. I live off grid currently, it runs pretty quiet on low idle, little louder when running full idle. On low idle I can run my fans and TV no problem and it will run on a tank of gas for over 12 hours. On full idle it doesn't run as long, but will power my AC or Microwave... Haven't needed to run the AC for a little bit since the temps are dropping nicely finally. Update: power switch started working again, not sure what was going on with that. Also, it really does not like wet weather. In warm or dry weather it starts pretty easy, but if it gets wet at all it takes forever and about a zillion pulls to get it going. Once started though it runs fine. I do recommend some sort of cover to keep it dry. Still wish it had an hour meter, I have to "guess" when it is due for an oil change. ... show more

Changed oil at hour ten - lots of metal flakes. Just changed the oil 60 hour mark, looked like normal used oil. This generator is hooked into our home, lights refrigerator and washer going; generator didnt miss a beat. Turned around, made coffee and popcorn in microwave, heard the generator grunt a little. Lights never flickered. Two thumbs up on this generator! Another update: hour 110, another oil change. Dirty like the other oil change. Several times, we ran one too many items. I can tell by listening to it running when we cross close to that 4000 watts starting. I practical run to an appliance to shut it down. The fridge is the easiest, i have a power strip sitting on the counter next to it. Once i flip the switch to shut down the fridge, that little generator starts running much more happier. I am really curious the lifetime hours this thing will run. I will let you know when i get there, lol Update 275 hours, 2nd oil changed since last update - normal dirty oil. This generator runs without a hitch. Averaging about 8.5 hours on a full tank of fuel. It powers most of the basics for our home without a problem. Even runs one of those portable ac units with the window vent tubing. This purchase has been amazing… ... show more

Why did you pick this product vs others?: I Power ? I will call it I junk, bought one in April here now in June and it is absolutely garbage not worth a cent, was out camping it fired up ran for 1 hour and 10 minutes and refused to start, had to pack it up, what a disgrace. Bought this exact model, if there was negative review scores this product and company would win all, no help, don't get yourself frustrated looking at these products, was givin the run around, faulty product, giant headache, I can go on and on, why waste energy on something they will not stand by, good luck on your next generator purchase, keep searching, predators from harbor freight will stand by their product if it goes out, take it back and get a new one in a box, it's so much easier and better Ray Charles can see it, dont be taken for your hard earned money with this product, negative stars ... show more
