Started on the 3rd pull after taking it off choke a little. Tested it on my 8000btu a/c first and it worked great - very little speed increase on ECO mode surprisingly. Then I put a 1875 watt hair dryer on it and the dryer ran fine although the generator could only provide 1587 watts ( which is close enough for it's advertised output) for it according to my watt meter. That bumped it up to full rpm naturally. On house current the dryer was pulling around 1850 watts. As far as noise goes, I was surprised how quiet it is. The youtube videos are deceptive, making it sound louder than it actually is. I did notice before starting it up that the generator was test run at the factory because of discoloration of the exhaust tube. I found that reassuring. Overall the quality looks excellent and it runs perfect, especially for a low priced model. Sorry, I can't find anything wrong with it! Update 8/24/20 Checked fuel consumption at a couple of different loads: *Window a/c 8000 BTU's @ 650 watts per hour continuous - 40% of rated load = 6.7 hours per gallon - Eco mode ON. *1500 watt electric heater. 94% load: 4.16 hours per gallon - Eco mode off. Update 6/20/2022 I just converted this over to natural gas and runs great. Full load watt capacity only dropped by 10-15 watts, but surge watts dropped more.. Hard to say how much, but I can tell there is a little more lag time when a 1500 watt load kicks in for engine to recover on eco mode. Nothing serious with what I run and I notice all generators take a bigger hit on surge when converted. It still starts my 8000 but A/c. with no problem. US Carburetion has kits for these. The only thing hard about the conversion is getting the inside nut off and back on the carb again. It would help a lot if you had another pair of hands in order to tilt the engine over on the mounts while one gets a little ratchet in there. I have not mastered starting the unit on NG yet and I might not. I am just putting about an ounce of gas in the tank and start it that way, then when the motor starts to stagger in a minute or two I start introducing the NG. Very easy this way and makes it it much cheaper to run compared to gasoline. All I have to do when the power goes out is start it and bring out of the garage a couple of feet and she'll just run and run. No more hauling gasoline or worrying if the gas is going bad is a huge benefit. Update 6/28/2022 As far as the surge problem goes with the generator running on NG, I discovered that if you eliminate the quick disconnect fittings from the gas line and plug the conversion kit fuel line that goes from the carburetor directly into the regulator thereby eliminating the tiny 3/16 barb fitting that they provide with the kit, it will make the generator run just as well as it does on gasoline. I think this may be why all the tri-fuel generators take such a drastic cut in performance because they don't allow for restrictive fittings. Take a look at the specs on a tri-fuel generator and look what they use for the fittings. Yup, quick disconnects. They have very tiny passageways. The problem is most pronounced when running in ECO mode when a large load hits the generator. Update 4/28/2023 I have 30 hours on it now so it should be pretty will broke in. I decided to clock my gas meter and check the Natural Gas usage at different loads today. It seems to do a little better on NG than on gasoline and not to mention that NG is 8 times cheaper than gasoline! Oil looks brand new yet, too. All ECO on No load idle = 12.82 hours Per cubit foot(PCF). Earlier in the week I visited a Sam’s Club in order to buy the AI 2000 watt (red) generator. Due to a nasty storm in the area, all of these generators were sold out ($349.97). I checked Amazon and found the same generator on sale for 320.00 so I ordered it. The generator arrived in perfect condition only two days after ordering. Upon unpacking I found the box didn’t contain parallel cables or break in oil. After reading many reviews, I followed the lead of others to ensure proper break-in. First I filled the engine with a non-synthetic 10w-30 motor oil and swapped in a magnetic tip oil filler cap. Non synthetic oil may aid in helping the piston rings seat sooner. I added non-ethanol high octane gas with a cap full of gas stabilizer. I then proceeded to remove the spark plug in order to add just a little spray lubricant to the engine cylinder. I found that the spark plug was way over torqued. I was relieved to see that no thread damage had occurred to the cylinder head. I cycled the piston several times in order to spread the lubricant throughout the cylinder walls. After replacing the spark plug it was time to start the generator. I set the fuel dial to the full choke setting and gave the pull start rope a tug. To my amazement the engine fired up on the first pull. The engine smoked for over a minute as it burnt off the spray lubricant inside the cylinder. I let the engine run in the economy mode for 10 minutes and then proceeded to change the oil. While changing the oil I saw one silver flake in the oil and some very fine black material on the magnetic fill plug. The black material was very minuscule and not alarming. After refilling the engine with oil a second time, I started it and ran it for 30 minutes in economy mode and 30 minutes at high rpm. Then it was time for a second oil change. This time I saw no metal flakes in the oil and only saw a light amount of black material on the magnetic oil cap plug. Again the black material raised no concern for me. After refilling the engine with oil for a third time I attempted to start it. Even though the engine was hot it required a full choke to start it. This time I set the engine to high rpm’s and added a slight power load. I let the engine run for one hour and again proceeded to change the engine oil. Once again I saw no metal flakes and only a minuscule amount of black material on the magnetic fill plug. At this point I changed the engine oil over to Amsoil 10w-30 small engine oil and called it a day. Pros: Impressed by the first pull initial start up. Has an easy access gas drain valve at carburetor. Very quiet operation when set at economy mode. Fan system inside generator housing draws ample air for cooling purposes. Cons: Disappointed the generator wants to be choked every start up, even when hot. Finicky recoil starter rope, doesn’t fully retract. Suggestions: Swap out the dip stick oil filler cap with a magnetic filler cap. Many types sold on Amazon. Break in with conventional oil and switch to synthetic oil after break in. Overall it’s a great value for the money.

Rather surprising that this inexpensive generator was able to put out over a thousand watts of power continuously. However if it's a little bit cold out it stumbles for a very long time to put out even very low power. It is pretty loud and the campers around me were annoyed. However, for less than half the price of the Honda generator this one would be my choice .

This is a great generator, I have already used it for 100+ hours. The generator has multiple settings, one includes how long it's been used which is nice to keep track of maintaining it. It is quiet for a generator, under a heavy load it does get louder. But i can still barely hear it inside my house with a TV on. It's able to provide the advertised power. It can surge the advertised watts for about 5 seconds before it will turn the inverter off automatically. Gas is easy to re fuel. Oil is easy to change. Downside is it can't use 120 and 240 at the same time. This doesn't affect my situation as I only need it for 240. My house runs off a separate battery/solar system. When I dont get enough sun I use this generator to charge my battery system.
