  • Better than expected
Started on the 3rd pull after taking it off choke a little. Tested it on my 8000btu a/c first and it worked great - very little speed increase on ECO mode surprisingly. Then I put a 1875 watt hair dryer on it and the dryer ran fine although the generator could only provide 1587 watts ( which is close enough for it's advertised output) for it according to my watt meter. That bumped it up to full rpm naturally. On house current the dryer was pulling around 1850 watts. As far as noise goes, I was surprised how quiet it is. The youtube videos are deceptive, making it sound louder than it actually is. I did notice before starting it up that the generator was test run at the factory because of discoloration of the exhaust tube. I found that reassuring. Overall the quality looks excellent and it runs perfect, especially for a low priced model. Sorry, I can't find anything wrong with it! Update 8/24/20 Checked fuel consumption at a couple of different loads: *Window a/c 8000 BTU's @ 650 watts per hour continuous - 40% of rated load = 6.7 hours per gallon - Eco mode ON. *1500 watt electric heater. 94% load: 4.16 hours per gallon - Eco mode off. Update 6/20/2022 I just converted this over to natural gas and runs great. Full load watt capacity only dropped by 10-15 watts, but surge watts dropped more.. Hard to say how much, but I can tell there is a little more lag time when a 1500 watt load kicks in for engine to recover on eco mode. Nothing serious with what I run and I notice all generators take a bigger hit on surge when converted. It still starts my 8000 but A/c. with no problem. US Carburetion has kits for these. The only thing hard about the conversion is getting the inside nut off and back on the carb again. It would help a lot if you had another pair of hands in order to tilt the engine over on the mounts while one gets a little ratchet in there. I have not mastered starting the unit on NG yet and I might not. I am just putting about an ounce of gas in the tank and start it that way, then when the motor starts to stagger in a minute or two I start introducing the NG. Very easy this way and makes it it much cheaper to run compared to gasoline. All I have to do when the power goes out is start it and bring out of the garage a couple of feet and she'll just run and run. No more hauling gasoline or worrying if the gas is going bad is a huge benefit. Update 6/28/2022 As far as the surge problem goes with the generator running on NG, I discovered that if you eliminate the quick disconnect fittings from the gas line and plug the conversion kit fuel line that goes from the carburetor directly into the regulator thereby eliminating the tiny 3/16 barb fitting that they provide with the kit, it will make the generator run just as well as it does on gasoline. I think this may be why all the tri-fuel generators take such a drastic cut in performance because they don't allow for restrictive fittings. Take a look at the specs on a tri-fuel generator and look what they use for the fittings. Yup, quick disconnects. They have very tiny passageways. The problem is most pronounced when running in ECO mode when a large load hits the generator. Update 4/28/2023 I have 30 hours on it now so it should be pretty will broke in. I decided to clock my gas meter and check the Natural Gas usage at different loads today. It seems to do a little better on NG than on gasoline and not to mention that NG is 8 times cheaper than gasoline! Oil looks brand new yet, too. All ECO on No load idle = 12.82 hours Per cubit foot(PCF). Present Cost of Natura Gas is 45 cents PCF 435 watts = 10.13 hours PCF 950 watts = 7.15 hours PCF 1500 watts = 4.72 hours PCF https://www.amazon.com/DuoMax-XP13000HXT-000-Watt-Electric-Generator/dp/B092CJQ51F/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?crid=3LEV80YSW7N97&keywords=tri%2Bfuel%2Bgenerator&qid=1656459230&sprefix=tri%2Bfuil%2Caps%2C131&sr=8-1-spons&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUFGMTNHVUZQQ0pUSkUmZW5jcnlwdGVkSWQ9QTA3NTc2MjMzMTRDVjU2U0hOQU9NJmVuY3J5cHRlZEFkSWQ9QTA1MjExNjYyWDBWUkxUVFJaVDRRJndpZGdldE5hbWU9c3BfYXRmJmFjdGlvbj1jbGlja1JlZGlyZWN0JmRvTm90TG9nQ2xpY2s9dHJ1ZQ&th=1 ... show more

  • Great generator!
Style: 4300W - Dual Fuel
This generator has exceeded my expectations! It starts quickly and easily. It runs quiet and easily provides enough power to run my RV when dry camping. I only use propane so I am able to store in the camper. Plenty of power!

  • Clean power (SINE), fuel efficient, moderately quiet with 240V!
Style: 7600W - Dual Fuel
This generator ticks all of the boxes for my home backup power where power outages are common and our [Power Company] is offering rebates on generators and battery systems to residents, expecting more outages in the future. Despite being a lower wattage rated generator than my open frame, it has run all of my home appliances, including fridge, chest freezer, HVAC and even well pump. It is a noticeably quieter than my open frame generator to the point I can actually have a conversation while standing 5-10 feet away. It doesn't hurt your ears like my old generator to stand near it for a short while. The display provides some useful info and all the controls are fairly straight forward. It arrives with a bottle of oil, funnel, a charged starter battery, and a propane regulator hose. It takes about 15-20 minutes to unbox and ready the generator for first use. With the packaging out of the way, you will find the instructions in the manual to open the plastic side panel where you will connect the starter battery. Then on the other side panel you will unscrew the oil reservoir fill plug and pour in the oil. Screw the filler plug back on, put the plastic panels. Choose your fuel. I use propane because it is clean, easy to use, safer for me to use, stores for years, and readily available in my area. This generator is more fuel efficient than my larger open frame generator while making consistent, clean power. My lights do not clicker and everything runs smoothly so far. ... show more

  • Easy for big fridge, tankless water heater, lights, chargers, coffee maker, TV + wifi, etc
Just add oil and gas, this generator is quiet and works very well after about 36 total hours we've run it. California fires and wind and earthquakes means sometimes the power's out of a couple days. Wanted to get something with similar power to the (much more expensive at more than $1,000) Honda EU2200i. This generator is nearly as quiet, nearly as powerful, and about 35% of the cost while doing anything the Honda could do. This has been great for allowing us to keep the fridge cold, making hot coffee with a machine (instead of a filter and boiled water), and running several electronics like lamps, phone and battery chargers, our HDTV, wireless router, and the other TV/internet bits. I'm going to try running the washing machine with it too, but can't confirm that works yet. Sometimes is struggles when running all of the above, specifically when adding the coffee maker (Nespresso type) because of the water heating element but it does work. Same for an electric kettle. What it won't work for: electric clothes dryer, probably not the hair drier, garbage disposal, well water pump, etc. The eco mode is great for keeping the noise down and additional hours from the same amount of gas. It runs our large fridge/freezer and several other items for over 8 hours easily on a single gallon, never ran out of gas so can't say exactly the timing though. Sometimes a second pull on the cord is necessary to start it, especially in the morning, but I've never worried about it starting easily. The only things you need that are not included are oil (you can use 10w30 or 10w40), a gas tank, and a gallon of gas (87 or higher octane). The oil is added under the side screw on panel, it's at a funny angle so you need their funnel. It took about 0.4 quarts of oil. ... show more
