I was struggling pulling out our trailer’s awning and ended up ripping the hook loop off of the strap. Was able to temporarily attach the loop with a quick knot and get it out, pulled it out of the end and slid this one in - good as new! Happy to have the awning back for another season of camping!

A & E Systems 940001 awning pull strap was ordered as a replacement for an A & E Systems awning broken strap on my vintage 1998 camper. Luckily there has been no significant change in engineering design compared to the old strap and the strap installed effortlessly into the groove on the awning roller! The strap is well made of quality, heavy duty black ribbon like fabric and reinforced with rubber loop at the end that attaches to the awning pull down tool. I installed the new strap approximately one month ago. The strap is functioning properly with daily use. The original one on our RV broke. Found the correct length and ordered. After sliding the old one out. Then sliding the new one in the tract can open and close the awning with one person.

    • DO NOT BUY!! This is not the size it says it is!! DO NOT BUY!
The description states this is supposed to be a 94.5 inch pull strap, which should be about 8 feet. The packaging looks correct and the part number matches what should be an 8ft strap, but the one in the box is about 3 feet in total length, which obviously is about 5 feet too short to work on an awning. Unfortunately, I dilly-dallied a bit too much and went to install it after the return period had passed. Now I'm stuck with this ridiculously short strap and out $10. Thankfully, it was only $10 or I'd be way more upset. Ironically, I read the reviews for this before I purchased it and had read other reviewers with this same issue. I thought it had to be a fluke.
