This is a pretty nice cabinet if you put it together using the sealant that comes with and look outside the box when assembling it. If there’s something that dose not seem like it will hold up change it right away. The screws that hold the hand inserts in drill the holes out and replace them with regular #10 screws. Use blue loctite on all the bolts and take out the worry of something coming loose. The directions are not that bad if you use common sense when assembling things. I have used industrial blast cabinets and this thing works just as good when you set things up right. As for the dust collection get a dust cyclone from harbor freight and hook up you shop vac and you will be just fine. A regulator with a water separator is a must with any blast cabinet so get one a throw it on. As for sand Menards has nice blast sand that once you sift out the larger material this thing works great and you can throw a 50lb bag in and be set.

First off it a good cabinet. It's my first blast cabinet. So if this is also your first you should know a few things. If, like me you expected to put it together, hook it up and start working, you will end up a cloud of media dust on everything in the garage. First issue - There is a tube of RTV in the kit but nowhere in instructions on what it's for. Use it to seal EVERY panel joint. They leak like crazy if you don't. Get more RTV. That little tube isn't enough. Second problem - Nowhere does it say you need a dust collector vacuum bolted to the back. Without suction, the cabinet blows that stuff right out the back. Get the dust collector.

PROS. Great cabinet, easy to assemble, good viewing area, plenty of space inside. CONS. The gloves are difficult to mount because there is no lip on the mounting ring. CONS. The media pick up tube is poorly designed. It is not secured to the bottom of the media tub and has to be repositioned frequently. CONS. The media tub could be angled more so the blasting media slides back to the center more easily.

The hardware was complete and the quality was pretty good. The steel panels are sturdy enough for a home DIY shop. I think this unit would get pretty beat up in an industrial environment. The window is plastic and not very thick and not very clear. Also, the window frame is a black plastic. Again for my DIY use, it should be ok, but I do wish the window was glass or at least thicker plastic mounted with rubber gaskets and a steel retainer. Assembly was not difficult - but put the hinge on the door first it will be easier that way. The bolts and nuts that hold the lid to the hinge do compress the rubber seal when the door is closed, so I am wondering how long it will be before I need to replace the seal and maybe use some pop-rivets to hold the hinge on that side. I liked the cord grip supplied for the light cable, it prevents blasting media getting into the switch box. I use my unit with a fine glass bead media and it does a good job. The unit is also big enough for most anything I will throw at it. I am not using a vacuum at this time. And the cabinet will require some effort to seal it up better. Perhaps some clear tape to seal up the seams. The air hose supplying the gun would not seal to the hose barbs becuase it isnt meant to seal to hose barbs, even when using hose clamps. That type of polyethylene hose is intended for instant tube fittings that seal on the outside diameter of the tubing. I replaced the tubing in mine with 1/4" rubber fuel line, so far no leaks and I like the way it works.
