I got these for building some frames for wood storage unit. There are a number of reviews for this item already so not going into detail here, but as one points out not square to precision of a machinist square, but good enough to build my frames out of 2x4’s. Help a lot in setting the parts up from counter drilling and putting in the screws. I am a casual DIY guy, not a precision furniture of=r cabinet builder so these are a good, cheap alternative for the kind of work I do and more then adequate. I would recommend to anyone else similar to me and my DIY projects.

The product was advertised as Ridgid plastic 90 degree corner clamps. I used the clamps one time to glue up a box jointed drawer and found the corner clamps flexed easily and failed to square up the box. I had to remove the clamps and use my other set of metal corner clamps to try and square up the box by that time the glue open time limit had passed and I had to really tweak the box to sort of get square enough to use ( hopefully). I definitely would not recommend these clamps for glue-up purposes. They flex too much and will not do the job. I’m returning these to Amazon.

While I normally prefer to use the aluminum clamping squares, these plastic ones are surprisingly rigid and should hold my workpieces without bending. I deducted one star simply because they aren't perfectly 100% square when compared to a machinist's square. That alone isn't a huge problem because you rarely need that level of accuracy from a clamping square and (theoretically) the small amount of error should average and cancel out if you're using multiple squares to clamp everything together. Unfortunately, using multiple squares with this set is impossible. That's because they only include 8 clamps to use with the 12 squares included in the set. Let's get the math right on this one... each square needs at least 2 clamps to even work. The larger ones would work better with 4 clamps per square. There are 8 clamps included. That means that you can only use 4 of these clamps at any given time (and forget about using 4 with the larger ones). Whether this was done in the interest of being cheap or just poor planning, it really limits the usability of the entire set. I have to say I'm a bit disappointed with these.

I used this to help me create a simple, square frame in a custom size for a canvas that I couldn't find a frame that would fit it the way I wanted it to. It was easy to square the frame using this set and simple to keep everything aligned with the set's clamps. I did use little pieces of felt to protect the wood surface for the frame as I felt the set's pieces weren't protective enough with the softer wood I was using. I'll keep this and use it in the future - it's not the fanciest system I've ever seen, but it works and it's a good value considering I can now square items easily.
